Last night's third-annual Veterans Ball was a night to remember. Residents, families, and community guests gathered to honor those who’ve served—complete with cocktails, jazz, and heartfelt reflections from veterans like LeRoy Frahm, who shared, “We not only want to recognize those veterans, we want to recognize their families, who are under the strain and sacrifice, especially when they are deployed and gone from their home.”

To every veteran and their loved ones: thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and service. We also thank WBAY TV-2 for covering this meaningful event.

The evening was filled with cocktails, appetizers, and jazz.

Yesterday, Touchmark at All Saints was honored to be featured by KELOLAND News for our Veterans Day celebration recognizing the many residents and team members who have served our country.

This Veterans Day, we’re especially proud to share the story of Touchmark resident and U.S. Navy Veteran Ken Cumings, whose 25-year career reflects the strength and resilience found in so many who’ve served.

At Touchmark at Harwood Groves, generations came together this week in a heartwarming display of gratitude. ❤️ First graders from Eagles Elementary visited our veteran residents to personally deliver handmade crafts and thank-you notes—sharing smiles, stories, and appreciation ahead of Veterans Day.

We’re grateful for our partnership through the Adopt-A-School program and for these young students who made the day so meaningful. And we are especially thankful for our veterans and all they have given to all of us.

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, and we’re honored to celebrate Touchmark in the West Hills resident veteran Ken Cumings, whose story was featured today on KATU News. A retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander, Ken served for 25 years—first as a Russian linguist and cryptologic specialist, later commanding a Naval Security Group Activity in Connecticut and supporting the launch of Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Ken received a Quilt of Valor at Touchmark in 2019, one of many handcrafted red, white, and blue quilts made by volunteers to honor veterans’ selfless service. His quilt now hangs proudly in his home, a daily reminder of those who never came home. Thank you, Ken, and all other veterans who have served our country.

💚 What an incredible day celebrating vibrant lifestyles at every age!

The Columbian joined us for our second annual Couve to Columbia Relay Walk, where residents and team members journeyed 10 miles from Touchmark at Fairway Village to the Vancouver waterfront—rain and all! 🌦️

Touchmark is proud to celebrate Sammey O’Brien, On-call Care Supervisor with our Central Office team, on her recent promotion to Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Becoming a Chief is one of the most significant milestones in a Sailor’s career and is earned by fewer than 10% of eligible candidates each year. It reflects leadership, character, and the ability to mentor others while upholding the Navy’s highest standards. Sammey achieved this honor while balancing full-time responsibilities on Touchmark’s essential on-call nursing team, which provides overnight support to health services team members across all of our communities.

With more than 16 years of military service—including 9½ years active duty and now 7 years in the Reserves—Sammey embodies dedication, perseverance, and wisdom. She continues to bring those same strengths to Touchmark, leading with calm, steady guidance when our teams need it most.
