I recognize that racism is a driving force of the social determinants of health (like housing, education and employment) and is a barrier to health equity. To achieve health equity we must address injustices caused by racism. We must support actions at all levels to ensure equal opportunity for all. Journey Chiropractic will continue to work with others in our community to educate ourselves and our colleagues, as well as to understand resources and tools available to address the factors that influence health (housing, education, employment, access to food and healthcare, etc). We name racism as a force in determining how these social determinants are distributed.

After much consideration and discussion, we have decided to close down the chiropractic clinic effective immediately to preemptively provide the best choices for our community and clients' health.

We apologize for any inconveniences that this decision may have impacted. It was a very difficult decision that has not been taken lightly. We have canceled all appointments for the next 3 weeks, however much will be dependent on what happens during the following days and weeks to come.

For emergent cases that require chiropractic care, please contact me for further instructions so we can better serve you.

Be kind to each other, and to yourselves. We are all in this together and please reach out if there is anything we can do to assist you. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Message from the Junior League of Portland

"Jan 11th was Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and the Junior League of Portland hosted an Awareness Event to Kick off the 8th Delicates Drive. We collect undergarments because when individuals are fleeing these environments they are often asked to surrender these items as evidence and may not have the resources to purchase new ones.

The Junior League of Portland will distribute donations to a selection of partner organizations such as Rose Haven, New Avenues for Youth, Janus Youth, A Village for One, Rahab's Sisters, and Portland Police Bureau.

Please consider helping us reach our goal of 10,000 undergarments, by donating through our Amazon or Target wishlists (links in comments)
