Goddesses don’t speak in whispers; they roar.”
This is a quote adapted (by me) from a character Lady Gaga played in a series that was popular but rather disturbing. But I love this statement nonetheless and have it on my website. I also love Lady Gaga, so there’s that as well.
This statement reminds me that women should not mind the volume of their voices, of their experiences, their wisdom, or their power. We should pay no mind to the space we hold or the amount of radiance that falls upon us.
Too often women come for a massage and make apologies for themselves - their bodies, their habits, the space they take up on a massage table. And every time I find a gentle way to say:
Goddess, you owe me nothing. Take up all the space. This place is just for you. You deserve to be everywhere with no apologies.
Come as you are, always.
