You don’t have a discipline problem.

You have a safety problem.

Because going after what you actually want?

Being seen more?
Having more?
Holding more?
Saying no?
Setting that boundary?
Saying what you really want?

To your nervous system… that can feel like a threat.

So you hesitate.
You stall.
You shrink it back down to something that feels manageable.

Not because you can’t have it.
But because your body hasn’t caught up to who you’re becoming.

Here’s the shift:

Safety isn’t found by staying where you are.
It’s built by showing your body little by little that more is safe for you now.

That’s not you being hard on yourself

That’s you remembering

Because the truth is…

You usually did know

There was a pause
A hesitation
A quiet “this might not be it”

But then:

They were convincing
They were kind
They really wanted it

And your empathy stepped in and said:

👉 “give them a chance”
👉 “maybe it’ll be different”
👉 “don’t be too harsh”

And just like that…

Your intuition got quieter

This is the moment that matters

Not what happened after

But the moment you overrode yourself

Because that’s the place you get to return to

With more awareness next time

Self-trust isn’t built by never getting it wrong

It’s built by noticing:

👉 where you left yourself
👉 and choosing differently, even slightly, next time

✨ This is the kind of awareness we build inside the membership; The Empowered Empath Collective (linked at the top of my profile)

We don’t fix this by becoming less empathetic

We shift this by learning how to:

👉 hold empathy and discernment at the same time

➡️ and by making sure you are resourced… well rested, hydrated, nourished.

🎙 I talk about this more on the Your Yes Filled Life podcast

This week has been really hard.

We lost our family dog. The dog who chose my daughter instantly… so when my daughter flew the nest, Jane went with her.

And… I’m okay.

Not because it didn’t matter
Not because I’m pushing it down
Not because I’m “handling it well”

But because I have the tools
to stay with myself through it

I can feel the grief
and still feel grounded

I can cry
and still feel like me

That’s the difference

This work isn’t about being calm all the time

It’s about building a strong enough baseline
that you can feel everything…

and not lose yourself inside it

🎙 I share more about this in the latest episode of Your Yes Filled Life

You don’t need more time.

And also…

sometimes you really do.

Tthere are two different patterns I see all the time:

1. You have the time
…but you can’t follow through
You overthink
you hesitate
you pull back

Not because you don’t care

But because your nervous system doesn’t feel safe

2. You don’t actually have capacity
Because you’re carrying:

emotional labor
invisible responsibility
everyone else’s needs

Things that don’t show up on a to-do list
but take up your entire system

And when you don’t separate these?

You make it mean:

👉 “I should be doing more”

Sometimes the work is:

👉 staying with yourself through discomfort

And sometimes the work is:

👉 putting something down that was never yours to carry

🎙 I talk about this on Your Yes Filled Life podcast (available on all platforms and linked in my bio)

✨ And we practice both inside the Empowered Empath Collective membership

04/26/2026

You probably don’t need more time.

You need support while you’re actually doing things differently.

While you…

- get real about all the things that never get put on your to do list while you support the people in your life (the conversations with your family, the way you show up for your friends, the meal prep and kitchen clean up)

- get real about the ways you are avoiding doing the thing you need or want to do (like cleaning the stove the day before the cleaners come or feeling an urge to organize your underwear drawer)

- start to feel safe enough to do the things you really want to do. You know it’s not that you are avoiding the thing, it’s that your scared of the successes and choices on the other side

It’s probably not about time at all.

You need a nervous system that feels safe enough
to use the time you already have. And you get to stop being mean to yourself about it, because you probably are doing more than your list shows because of your emotional intelligence.

So if you can have a free afternoon …and still:

avoid the thing
overthink the decision
or shut down completely

Something else is happening.

It’s not lazy.

Your system is reading the thing you want to do as a threat. And your body (nervous system) will stop you.

It looks like being busy and getting nothing done, doing everything except the thing you need to do, and getting literally frozen on the couch.

And if you have ADHD or CPTSD this is even more of a thing!

Even when it’s something you want.

You don’t need more time.
You need to feel safe enough to follow through.

We said goodbye to Jane the chiweenie this week.

We knew she was declining.
We thought we had a little more time.

And somehow, it still felt like a surprise.

There’s something about these moments that slows everything down.

The way a life can be so full…
and then suddenly, so quiet.

Jane was so loved.

And this week has been a mix of grief, tenderness, and a lot of reflection.

Not just about her…

but about time.
about presence.
about how easy it is to assume there will be more later.

It’s just a quiet reminder:

Spend the extra few minutes.
Take the walk.
Sit a little longer.
Say the thing.

Be where you are, while you’re there. We won’t regret prioritizing time with her this week, celebrating her birthday and taking a few extra family walks.
🤍

You’ve already:

done the healing
built the awareness
learned how to regulate
stopped abandoning yourself (most of the time)

and now…

it’s more subtle

it’s not:

“It’s all too much”

it’s:

👉 is this mine?
👉 is this timing right?
👉 am I responding… or slightly adjusting

because at this level:

the noise is quieter

but the decisions carry more weight

so the work becomes:

➡️refining
➡️listening more precisely
➡️trusting yourself and acting on your intuition even when it doesn’t make logical sense

you’re learning how to:

👉 trust what you hear
👉 faster
👉 cleaner
👉 without distortion

you didn’t find this by accident

you found it because you’re ready for that level

This week, I had to support my daughter in a very difficult decision.

My daughter’s dog, Jane, who was part of our family for years and originally our family dog…,was declining quickly. More on that soon…

And there’s a moment in situations like this where…

👉 your mind can’t solve it
👉 logic isn’t enough
👉 and you just want to know you’re doing the right thing

So I did something I’ve been practicing and teaching:

I slowed down.
I grounded myself.
And I used muscle testing to help me listen more clearly.

Not to avoid the decision.

But to support myself in making it from a place of clarity… not fear.

This work isn’t about getting it “right.”

It’s about being able to:

feel everything
stay present
and trust yourself in the moments that matter most

If you’re curious about how muscle testing actually works (and how to do it in a grounded, non-woo way)…

🎙 I break it down in last week’s podcast episode

And if you want support building this kind of self-trust in real time…

✨ that’s exactly what we practice inside the membership… The Empowered Empath Collective

This is the kind of shift that happened after ONE call inside POWER.

Not a new system.
Not more discipline.

👉 awareness

She caught the “should”
She questioned it
She chose something more grounded

And everything changed from there.

This is the work.

If you’ve been stuck in “I should”… I go deeper into this on the podcast.

It’s about why so many empathic women don’t trust themselves.

In this clip, I’m showing you what happens when I try to muscle test when I’m not grounded.

I get the wrong answer.

Not because I don’t have intuition.

Because my system isn’t resourced.

Then I drink water.
I reset.
I try again.

And the answer changes.

This is the part no one talks about.

Self-trust isn’t about getting it right the first time.

It’s about learning how to come back to yourself
again and again
until your signal is clear.

Also… full transparency?

The podcast episode this came from isn’t my “perfect” one.

There are moments where I clear my throat. Where I cut in the wrong place. Where it’s not as polished.

And I still chose to share it.

Because this work isn’t about performing perfectly.

It’s about practicing consistently.

If you’ve ever felt like:
you second guess yourself
you don’t trust your decisions
you “know” something but don’t follow it

This episode will help you understand why.
