THPRD Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation

THPRD Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Programs and services for children and adults with disabilities at Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District.

The THPRD Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Program is designed to give people with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in recreational, educational and leisure classes, events and field trips within the community and surrounding area. Contact the Athletic Center at 503-629-6330 for more information about this program or inclusion services. Our programs:
*Camp Rivendale - day camp for children and adults with developmental disabilities

*Inclusive Recreation - Classes starting in the fall that for children with and without disabilities offered at Centers throughout the district

*Adaptive Recreation- Classes for people with developmental disabilities

*Monday Night TR - social event with a variety of activities for people with developmental disabilities 16 years of age and older

A variety of fidgets are now available for check out at the front desk of the centers listed below! Participants can check out up to two items at one time and must be registered and participating in a THPRD program during the time of check out.

Introducing THPRD sensory bags! Any participant has the opportunity to check out an item included in the bag to assist with their success in THPRD programs. These items have a variety of uses and can help with things like sensory overload, stimming, lack of focus, and redirection.

Sensory and fidget items are now available for check-out at the following centers: Cedar Hills Recreation Center, Garden Home Recreation Center, Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center, the Nature Center, and the Athletic Center.

Looking to get your child active while learning the basics of a variety of sports? Sign them up for our all-inclusive sport class, Adaptive Sportz Center, on Friday evenings! This class is for ALL abilities and works at the level of the participants. Registration starts this Saturday for in-district and Monday morning for out-of-district.
