It’s beginning to look like Christmas at Compass Counseling.

What lies beneath is where the real work; the toughest work; the work that I have been running from, causing me to run to alcohol because I knew this work would break me, painfully break me; and then I realized alcohol is going to painfully break me,,, and many others; so either way, I was to be broken. It was then that I recognized I had to choose: the Healing pain or the continuous destructive pain. I chose the healing pain and believe me, it hurts like crazy, takes my mental and physical energy to the point that if I don’t “obey the pain” my body will literally shut down, it will paralyze me to the point that I cannot function. So, I listen to my body, I trust in The Lord, I spend most of my time in solitude so that I can face this excruciating pain; the healing pain from what lies beneath.
