❗Exciting new local offering!

The Sensational Beginnings Mom and Baby Group!

This 6-week educational mom and baby group will be led by myself (pediatric SLP and CLC) and Stefanie (pediatric OT) !

We are so excited to offer an informative, supportive, educational group to help mom's start out on the right track!

The group will take place on Fridays at 10 AM staying in July at a local park.

You can sign up for one week at a time or all 6 weeks at once (to receive a 10% discount).

Researchers from The Children's Hospital Westmead in Sydney, Australia released a study that confirmed not only how infants die from sudden infant death syndrome, but why.

SLPs are able to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient children’s hospitals. SLPs help children develop the communication and swallowing skills they need for life! If you know anyone who works as an SLP in an inpatient setting, give them some encouragement!

Have you ever heard the term "interprofessional collaboration"? This is where two or more specialists work together for a common purpose. A speech-language pathologist is just one part of the puzzle when it comes to diagnosing and treating a pediatric feeding disorder. An SLP may refer to an occupational therapist, a cardiologist, endocrinologist, otolaryngologist, and many other professionals. It's important to know why to refer to all of these professionals and when that referral is indicated. For more information on the IPP team, checkout the resources provided on the Feeding Matters website!

Feeding Matters is the first organization in the world serving kids with pediatric feeding disorder (PFD). We strive to unite families, healthcare professionals, and the broader community to improve the system of care for children with pediatric feeding disorder.

Did you know that SLPs work with children in preschool through high school? We can support a child's speech, language, and feeding goals one-on-one or in group setting in the school! To receive speech services in the school, certain qualifications must be met. If you have concerns, ask your child's teacher and/or principal about scheduling an evaluation.

Ever wondered what your little one needs to do before you should offer them solids?
- head and neck control
-trunk stability
-mouthing hands or toys
-independent sitting
-crossing midline
A few signs of signs that your little one is interested, but not necessarily ready, would be smacking lips when watching others eat, reaching for food, and doubling their birth weight.
The AAP and WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding or formula feeding for the first 6 months. Once your little one is showing all the signs of readiness, it's time to try foods! If you ever have any doubts, always talk to your pediatrician and reach out to your local SLP!

Pediatric feeding disorders are more prevalent than most people realize. Not all children that are hungry will eat, and "waiting them out" rarely if ever works. If you are struggling at mealtimes with your toddler, concerned with your child's weight gain, or concerned with the variety of foods they will consume, consider a consultation with a speech-language pathologist who specializes in feeding!

Pediatric Feeding is my passion! I want to see children thrive and be successful eaters! Feeding, swallowing, lactation, and speech-language disorders can be frustrating, but therapy doesn’t have to be! I want to build a relationship with my clients to make their experience more enjoyable and successful! With me, children will receive quality, individualized therapy services from the comfort of their homes!

In-person services are currently offered in-home in the greater Boston area and remote services are available for the state of Massachusetts.
