Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable that permanently destroys submental fat, and that word "permanently" is worth understanding.
Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid; a molecule your body naturally produces to break down dietary fat. When injected into the submental area (the fat beneath your chin), it destroys fat cell membranes. Those cells don't come back. The fat doesn't return.
Here's what patients need to know before booking: the swelling after treatment is significant and lasts 2–4 weeks. This is the fat cell destruction process working, not a complication.
