I've always loved the parable of the Tortoise and the Hare, and have also always strongly identified with the Tortoise living in a Hare's world.
These days, more than years past, the importance of grounding, balancing, and centering is paramount, and as we continue through these even busier times as the year comes to close we need to check in even more.
Stay tortoisey my friends

Slow down and dream a little today. A hazy atmosphere may not be the best for sharp focused, fast paced productivity, but if you keep a constant pace you can still get a lot done.

PSOAS MUSCLE AND BREATHING

The wonderful world of the psoas muscle.
Gotta love it. Always screaming for attention. Kind of like a 2-year old throwing a temper tantrum.

Here's a few cool things:
1. Only muscle to cross three zones: (lumbar, pelvis, hip). So it's sorta, kinda, maybe important for stabilization. If it's not working well you aren't as stable and when you are not stable you breathe differently...more shallow
2. It has fascial attachments to the diaphragm via the crura. If it attaches to it, it patterns to it. How well they play together is a linchpin to power
3. I find it weak as hell in most people. It often needs strengthening, not stretching Stability always precedes force production. So if it's weak how can you generate force efficiently? You can't. So you fall back on more effort. That's not optimal. Become more efficient and you naturally need less effort. That's just cool!

The takeaway: The psoai (plural) are important. Show them some strength love too.

Our world is getting busier and buzzier, flashier and shinier, and definitely not slowing down.
With all of the distractions in our world of today, we now need to ALL add brain exercises to our daily routine to maintain a full healthy mind.
Appreciative of the uptick in neuroscience research focusing on brain health.
It's great to have science seeing concrete results that we've anecdotally found in regards to yoga and meditation.

You can see significant positive changes in just 15 minutes a day.
