We had the absolute privilege of hosting an in-service Lunch & Learn yesterday with the Case Management team of Centra Health— and what a wonderful time it was!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect, share more about our services, and continue building a strong partnership to better serve Lynchburg and the surrounding communities. Our heart is to grow in a way that allows us to support more families in need of assisted living and memory care, and meaningful conversations like these make that possible.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us, enjoyed lunch, and took the time to learn more about how we can work together to support patients as they begin their next chapter. We hope you loved the food as much as we loved the fellowship!

Today we proudly celebrate National Caregiver Appreciation Day 💙

Our caregivers are the heart of everything we do. Their compassion, patience, strength, and dedication make a difference in the lives of our residents and families every single day. The love and kindness they pour into their work does not go unnoticed — and today, we celebrate them!

We also want to give a HUGE shout out to Tim Young with Express Care Pharmacy for partnering with us to help make today so special. Your support means more than you know!

And thank you to Bella’s Italian Restaurant for the absolutely fabulous luncheon! The food was incredible and such a wonderful treat for our hardworking team. 🍝🥗

Today we are celebrating National Acts of Kindness Day 💛

A very special thank you to the students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School and Librarian Faye Harrington for coordinating the most beautiful handmade cards for our residents.

These thoughtful cards brought so much joy and happiness to our residents as they read the sweet messages and admired each colorful, heartfelt drawing. The smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears reminded us just how powerful a simple act of kindness can be.

Thank you for taking the time to brighten their day and for teaching your students the true meaning of compassion and connection. Your kindness truly made a difference here at Cardinal Senior Living 💕

Shamrocks Across America

The Residents of Cardinal Senior Living Bedford are exited to participate in a nationwide opportunity of collecting "Shamrock's Across America". Our goal is to collect a Shamrock or postcard from all 50 states! As cards arrive, residents will place a Shamrock on a U.S. map to track where each one came from.

You might ask, "How You Can Help" 1. Send a Shamrock to the facility. 2. Share our post 3. Ask your family and friends in other states to do the same. Shamrocks may include: a greeting, a fun fact about your state, or just a note of kindness.

Do you know a loved one or friend who has been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s? If so, this post is for you. 💜

Cardinal Senior Living of Bedford and Amedisys Hospice have partnered together to offer a monthly educational seminar designed to support families and caregivers navigating dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Our goal is to provide helpful information on a variety of topics so you can feel confident giving the very best care to those who are near and dear to your heart. Whether you are hoping to keep your loved one comfortable at home, exploring support services, or considering placement options, we are here to help guide you every step of the way.

📅 Our first seminar will be held Thursday, February 19

☕ Light refreshments will be provided

This is a FREE event, and everyone is welcome to attend!

🌼 Thank You, Master Gardeners! 🌼

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Bedford Master Gardeners and our very special guest, Miss Sue Becker. Miss Sue has been a Master Gardener with Penn State for seven years and Virginia Tech for 15 years, and she shared an incredible wealth of knowledge with our residents.

Our residents truly enjoyed learning from her experience and passion for gardening. We are also so grateful for the beautiful handmade wreath she generously donated—it is absolutely stunning, and we can’t wait to see all of the lovely birds it will attract!

Thank you again for spending time with us, sharing your expertise, and helping make our day so special. Experiences like these mean so much to our residents and our community. 🐦

🍕 National Pizza Day Fun! 🍕

Yesterday we celebrated National Pizza Day, and it was such a fun and delicious time for our residents! Our amazing culinary department put together homemade pizzas that were an absolute hit—smiles, laughter, and full plates all around.

Food is about so much more than just a meal. It’s a time to gather, connect, share stories, and enjoy one another’s company. Moments like these are so important for socialization, joy, and overall well-being, and we love seeing how something as simple as pizza can bring everyone together.

This past Friday we wore RED in support of the American Heart Association and raising awareness for heart health—something that’s especially close to our hearts in healthcare. Caring for hearts (literally and figuratively) is part of what we do every day, and this is a great reminder of why prevention, education, and compassion matter so much.

We also want to give a huge THANK YOU to Tanzy from Amedysis Hospice for spending time with us and helping make custom T-shirts with our sweet residents. The smiles, laughter, and creativity made the day extra special, and we are so appreciative of her kindness and support.
