Philip P. Sarver, 80, of Central City, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 7, 2025 at his home in Central City, PA.

Phil was born in Meyersdale on December 5, 1944, son of the late Robert and Virginia (Fochtman) Sarver.

He is survived by wife-Theresa Sarver, of Central City; daughter- Krystal Miller, of Central City; daughter- Crystal Kennedy, of Odessa, FL; brother- Alfred Sarver, of Manns Choice; brother- Darryl Sarver, of Altoona; sister- Martha Marker, of Berlin; and numerous grandchildren, great--grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Phil is preceded in death by siblings: Bob, John "Jake" Sarver, Mary Ann Hillegas and son- Arnold Sarver.

He was a member at the New Baltimore Sportsman Club and St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church. Phil enjoyed hunting, and playing poker.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, with Father Mark Pattock, Celebrant.

Committal service will be held at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore, PA.

Michael R. Foor, 51, of New Baltimore, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Michael was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on February 25, 1974, son of the late Forrest H. Foor Sr. and Virginia Lynn (Martin) Foor, of Bedford.

On August 12, 2013, he married his wife Kathleen "Kate" (Rogers), of New Baltimore.

He is survived by daughter- Iyla Foor, of New Baltimore; step-son- Malakai Rogers, of Manns Choice; step-mother- Dona Foor, of Manns Choice; siblings: Forrest H. Foor Jr. husband of Martha (Day), of Chesapeake, VA; Dawn J. Foor, of New Paris; Lacie S. wife of William Shomo, of Manns Choice; step-brother- John R. husband of LaVon (Smith) Bumbarger, of Manns Choice; step-sister- Beth Fungaroli, of Myrtle Beach, SC; mother-in-law- Marsha Rogers; brother-in-law- Mark Rogers Jr. husband of Megan, of Schellsburg; sister-in-law- Monica wife of Christopher Squires, of Everett; and special nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his father, and father-in-law- Mark Rogers Sr.

He worked for Guys Chemical in Somerset as a Machinist for numerous years. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Todd E. Harr, 41, of Schellsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA.

Todd was born in Bedford on December 7, 1983, son of the late Michael R. Harr and Erma (Brown) Harr, of Fishertown.

On August 9, 2008, he married his wife Wendy (Stiffler) Harr, of Schellsburg.

He is survived by Sylvana Lee Harr, of Schellsburg; Alynia Marie Harr, of Schellsburg; Josiah Michael Harr, of Schellsburg; Saylor Nicole Harr, of Schellsburg; siblings: Michael Harr, of Bedford; Michele Harr, of Altoona; Steven husband of Kimberly (Westpfahl) Harr, of Everett; Brian Harr, of Bedford; James Harr, of Fishertown; sister-in-law- Tiffany wife of Devin Morris, of Centerville; in-laws- Daniel husband of Vickie (Shipley) Stiffler, of Schellsburg.

He was a truck driver for 10 years and he attended Tri-State Ministry Center. Todd loved to keep his vehicle super clean with all his fancy cleaning supply. He loved pulling his truck and going to truck shows. He also enjoyed going to Carlisle, for the all-Ford Show and semi show with his family and friends. Todd loved to go camping with his family. He loved to ride with his daughter in 4-H doing horse cart.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 from 9:30- 11 AM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Schellsburg.

William "Bill" Stone Jr.

William E. Stone, age 79, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Friday October 17, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was born on May 4, 1946, in Hyannis, Massachusetts, to William E. Stone Sr. and Evelyn Marie Stone. William grew up in Morris, New York, and was known for his kind heart, steady nature, and deep love for his family, as the oldest of ten children.

William was married to Barbara Ellen Stone, and together they shared 31 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.

Among family and friends, he was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-being at home, working in his garden, reading a good science fiction book, and grilling for family gatherings.

He enjoyed working on his property, hunting, and fishing, including a beloved yearly tradition of traveling to Canada for a special fishing trip. He pursued leatherworking as a hobby-creating original items for his home and for others, showcasing his skill and attention to detail. He also enjoyed cheering on college basketball and sharing his thoughts on the latest game or project.

He was always ready to lend a hand or offer advice when someone needed help. Whether fixing something for a neighbor or sharing his practical wisdom, he had a quiet way of supporting others. His steady presence, dry humor, and giving spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

After graduating high school, William served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to his country. He later built a career with the Department of Defense, where he was admired for his integrity, diligence, and professionalism.

William is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellen Stone; his children, Mark Stone and wife Heather Stone and Mathew Stone and wife Justine Stone; his stepchildren, Jennifer Schilling and husband Patrick Schilling, and Cathleen Noyes and husband Chris Noyes; and his siblings, Lynne Stone, Debra Convis, Mary Gray, and Michael Stone.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Stone from his former marriage to Phyllis Stone; his wife, Flora Stone; and his siblings, James (Kenny) Stone, Nancey Pickens, Jane Scott, Stanley Stone, and Samuel Stone.

He was a proud grandfather to Tiffany Farson, Devin Ballew, Tiffany Bowman, Ryelee Stone, Zachariah Stone, Samuel Stone, Conner Schilling, David Schilling, Kathryn Schilling, Sean Noyes, Daniel Noyes, Jeremy Noyes, Sarah Noyes, Elizabeth Noyes, Ashley Bierach, and James Bierach.

No services will be held at this time. A celebration of William's life will be scheduled at a later date.

Ferne M. Shaffer, 101, of Alum Bank, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ferne was born in Pleasantville on August 3, 1924, daughter of the late Roy and Midge (Walker) Mock.

On June 30, 1943, she married her husband Robert L. Shaffer, who preceded her in death on January 27, 2002.

She is survived by son- Dennis P. husband of Bonnie (Felton) Shaffer, of Willow Street, PA; daughter- Vicki L. wife of Larry Walters, of Herndon, VA; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Rob Harris), Rodney, Roxanne (Jonathan Purdy); three great-grandchildren: Cole, Brock, and Nora Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ferne is preceded in death by son- Wayne R. Shaffer, grandson- Randy, and siblings: Jay, Glenn, Arden, Mike, Doris and Jeanne. Ferne was the last survivor of her immediate family.

Ferne was a member at the Alum Bank Community Church, the church's Willing Workers Class and UMW. Ferne and her husband owned and operated Shaffer's Grocery store in Pleasantville from 1946-1953. She was a member of the Alum Bank Kitchen Band that performed on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour in 1958. She sang in the Church Choir and was the Church's Prayer Chain Captain since 2000. She played the piano and organ at church, funerals, weddings, and special occasions. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1942. She volunteered at Old Bedford Village in the quilt shop, helped in the Pleasantville School Cafe and was the eldest member of the church and town. She enjoyed music, quilting, word searches, playing Sudoku, and giving music lessons.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10-11 AM at Alum Bank Community Church, Alum Bank.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11 AM at Alum Bank Community Church with Pastor Ethan Shearer officiating.

Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.

Vonley was born in Sparta, North Carolina, on August 17, 1940, son of the late Delmas and Selma (Edwards) Kilby.

He is survived by daughter- Mary wife of John Hall, of Darlington, MD; daughter- Debbie Kolakowski, of Eldersburg, MD; daughter- Dawn Kilby, of Bedford; stepchildren: Linda Lilly, Judy Yetter, Cindy Pratt; 8 grandchildren: Karen (Jon) Tennesen, John R. (Brittany) Hall, Joe (Danielle) Whitaker, Alyssa James, Eddie Ollman, Erin Border Bauer, Sarah Lilly, and Victoria Lilly, and 7 great-grandchildren: Dominick, Noah, Eleni, Austin, Kristofer, Hunter, and Niko. Vonley is preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Billings) Kilby and siblings: Charles Kilby, Daniel Kilby, Harold Kilby, Barbara Anders, Iva Jean Boylan, and Kathleen Cox.

He worked for Anchor Motor Freight before it changed names to Leaseway, where he was a truck driver. Vonley was a social member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113 and a Life Member of the Chestnut Ridge Horseman's Club.

Louise M. Mickey-Bennett, 95, of Alum Bank, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Louise was born in Alum Bank on September 20, 1930, daughter of the late Grant and Almeda (Mock) Allison.

On August 11, 1948, she married her husband George R. Mickey, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1976. Louise then married her second husband Robert A. Bennett on February 14, 1983, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2017.

She is survived by son- Wayne husband of Brenda (Webb) Mickey, of Du Bois; daughter- Cheryl widow of Barry Stufft, of Alum Bank; daughter- Marcia widow of David Mickey, of Alum Bank; son- Alan husband of Kathy (Bollman) Mickey, of Alum Bank; stepdaughter- Deborah wife of Rodney Davis, of Gladstone, MO; special nephew- J. R. Bennett; eight grandchildren: Susan (Mike) Glass, Kevin (Jamie) Mickey, Chad (Melissa) Mickey, Shelley (Fiancé Dave) Kelichner, Troy (Jennifer) Mickey, Sheena (Travis) Miller, Ryan Mickey, step-grandson- Tim Haselhuhn and Sommer (Tyler) Miller; along with 14 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Donald Allison, Grace Clark, Carol (Bill) Lochner, and Ed Allison; Louise is preceded in death by son- Larry Mickey and two grandchildren: Leah & Kyle Mickey.

Louise worked numerous jobs including the Post Office, Bedford Elks, Sunoco Pump Shop, and The Cow. But her favorite was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed baking custom wedding and birthday cakes, with extra yummy frosting.

Inez (Sis Langham) L. Elder, 92, of Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her home in Buffalo Mills, surrounded by her loving family.

Inez was born in Moss Creek, PA. on October 16, 1932, daughter of the late James E. and Martha C. (Woodring) Burkhart.

On June 10, 1978, she married her husband W. Clifford Elder, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2016.

She is survived by son- William E. Langham, of Buffalo Mills; daughter- Pamela J. wife of Steve Ross, of Duncansville; daughter- Lori A. wife of Erich Stotler, of Duncansville; son-in-law- Wayne Rice, of Bedford; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters: Delores Snyder, Teddy Shaw; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Inez is preceded in death by infant son- James Langham, daughter- Molly Rice; siblings: Merle, Melvin, Guy and Dorothy Constantino, Gerladine Zinza, and Jean Bailey.

Inez was a member of Buffalo Mills Christian Church, where she was the church secretary for numerous years. She was a member of the Manns Choice Senior Center and a Board Member at the Manns Choice Community Center. She worked at Puritan Sportswear, where she worked as a looper.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Buffalo Mills Christian Church, 164 Church St. Buffalo Mills, PA. 15534.

Bill W. Kirchner

Bill W. Kirchner, 86, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025, at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 17, 1939, in Hyndman, he was the son of the late Harry and Emma Pearl (Smith) Kirchner. On December 26, 1964, he married the love of his life, Mona Sue Calhoun, sharing a lifetime of memories until her passing on October 10, 2002.

He is survived by his daughters, Beth Sellers (Jim) and Jill Groff (Jim); his grandson, Logan Diehl (Laura); his twin granddaughters, Abby Groff and Molly Groff; and his great-grandson, Brecken James Diehl. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Witt, and many loving nieces and nephews, especially Calvin Kirchner (Connie) and Steve Witt whom he was very close. He also leaves behind his two kitties, Max and Sally, who were his constant companions and provided unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene "Gene" Kirchner (Betty) and Paul Kirchner (Beulah); sisters, Irene Shroyer (Floyd), Anna Winebrenner (Clinton "Doc"), Betty Jenkins, and Wilda Emerick (Danny); and brother-in-law, Ken Witt.

Bill attended meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio, and worked for A&P and Lowry's IGA. He also owned and operated his own business, Kirchner's Meats, in the 1980s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113 and a past member of the Bedford Elks Lodge.

Bill was a passionate sports fan, particularly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, and Bedford High School athletics. He rarely missed a home game, and his favorite high school sports were basketball and baseball. He loved watching Logan's Sprint car races and cheering on Abby and Molly in soccer. He also had a green thumb, and his flowers every summer were the envy of his family.

He loved the beach, especially Rehoboth Beach, where he and Mona shared a seasonal place for many years, creating treasured memories with family and friends.

Bill's children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was very proud of them. He was a kind and caring person who loved talking to people and never met a stranger.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends will be received at the Geisel-Styer Funeral Home, 330 E. Pitt Street, Bedford on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1 to 4, where a funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., with Pastor Galen Winebrenner, his nephew, officiating. Burial at Hyndman Cemetery.

Frank Henry King Sr., 81, of Hyndman, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at his home in Londonberry Township.

Frank was born in Holyoke, MA. on September 20, 1943, son of the late Charles Howard and Mildred (Weston) King.

He was formerly married to Teresa Marie King, whom preceded him in death; and Laura (Sulewski) Pinsonnault, of MA.

He is survived by daughter- Laurie A. wife of Robert Wagoner, of NC; daughter- Cherie L. wife of Thomas Anderson, of VA; daughter- Kimberlee S. wife of Troy Risbon, of Everett; son- Frank H. King Jr., of CT; son- Thomas C. husband of Sherry King, of NC; son- Michael R. King, of NC; brother- Robert King, of MA; sister- Nancy King, of MA; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by siblings: Carolyn, Mildred, and William King.

Frank enjoyed yard sales, auctions, Hyndman Senior Center, gardening, motorcycles and the outdoors. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113. He worked for Savage Arms as a gun maker and was a truck driver for James River Graphics.

He served his country in the United States Army from 1960-1963.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

William J. Stiffler

William J. Stiffler, 93, of Bedford, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.

Bill was born in Bedford on July 7, 1932, son of the late Leslie N. and Winnie (Zimmerman) Stiffler.

On November 3, 1956, he married his wife Shirley A. (Fickes), of Bedford.

He is survived by, son- Randy Stiffler, of Bedford; son- William J. Stiffler Jr, of TX; son- Michael Stiffler significant other of Echo, of CA; brother- Harry Stiffler, of Harrisburg; and special grandson Zakary, of CA. Bill is preceded in death by brother- Patrick Stiffler.

He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He came home and drove truck for 47 years of service and over 4 million miles with no accidents, first he drove truck for Continental, then for different companies ending with Venenzla Transport, when he retired in 2005. Bill then worked for Cart and drove the Cart van for 5 years.

Bill was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post 113, a past member of the Bedford Elks Lodge No. 1707 for over 50 years, and a longtime member of the Coffee gang at the turnpike McDonald's.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary Lou Shaffer

Mary Lou Shaffer, 89, of Bedford, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at her home in Bedford.

Mary Lou was born in Schellsburg on March 16, 1936, daughter of the late Ernest N. and Margaret E. (Rogers) Kinzey.

She is survived by son- Larry G. husband of Tina (Bernhard) Shaffer, of AR; daughter- Lu Anne wife of Richard Schofield, of Schellsburg; daughter- Chris T. Marsh, of Imler; four grandchildren: Brian widower of Tiffany (Parrish) Shaffer, Trudy wife of Sean McCreary, Nicole wife of Wh**ey Claar, John Bridaham; and six great-grandchildren: Colton, Kyle, Rylie, Shaylie, Emily and Mason. Mary Lou is preceded in death by former husband Gene Shaffer.

She worked at Hedstrom for numerous years. She graduated from Schellsburg Napier High School in 1954. Mary Lou loved traveling, and was a member of the Senior Center and the RSVP.

At the request of Mary Lou, services will be private.
