Bringing awareness to colon cancer prevention is a cornerstone of my GI practice. This is one of the few cancers that screening can prevent. Subsequently, I always want to inform others about local events supporting colon cancer awareness to keep getting screened top of mind. To remain at the forefront of patient care and policies that affect our practice, I have taken leadership roles that allow me to provide direction on what is best for our patient population in DFW. I currently hold two roles as the American College of Gastroenterology Governor for Northern Texas and a physician executive at the Digestive Health Associates of Texas. Recently, I was featured on the Healio platform, giving feedback on the United Healthcare Gold Card program for GI endoscopy and other testing. Insurance can be challenging for providers and patients, so I think it is important to participate in dialogue to help insurance companies create good programs for everyone involved.
