As a dance teacher, it is essential to expose students to a variety of performances and events. Each stage is unique, and every performance environment offers a different experience. When students see the vast number of performers in the world, they begin to understand that they are just a small part of a much larger artistic community. This realization encourages them to stay humble, keep exploring, and never stop learning.
Attending multicultural events is especially valuable. Students get the opportunity to experience diverse styles of music and dance, and they begin to notice connectionsβhow different traditions relate to one another, as well as their similarities and differences. They also learn the importance of costumes, understanding how they enhance storytelling and play a significant role in dance.
Through observation, students absorb knowledge almost unconsciously. They begin to grasp body movements, recognize what looks aesthetically pleasing, and understand what may not work. They develop awareness of their own movements and gradually discover which techniques best suit their bodies.
