Very rarely, during an ultrasound, a fetal heartbeat may not be present. When this occurs, it is an incredibly emotional and difficult moment for any family. It is also why who performs your ultrasound matters so deeply.
At Prestige Prenatal Imaging, all scans are performed by ARDMS-registered sonographers with extensive medical and hospital experience. We are trained to understand fetal anatomy, recognize what we are seeing, and handle these situations with professionalism, compassion, and clarity.
While elective ultrasounds are often joyful experiences, they are still medical imaging. Having qualified professionals ensures that if something unexpected is identified, it is done accurately, respectfully, and with appropriate guidance for next steps.
We never want families to face moments like this — but when expertise is needed most, it should already be in the room.
