Just a couple more weeks to meet our baby boy 💙
During pregnancy, your body obviously undergoes numerous transformations. It’s essential to select exercises that accommodate these changes:
Some things to consider-
Joints—Pregnancy hormones lead to the relaxation of the ligaments supporting your joints, making them more flexible but also more susceptible to injury. It’s best to steer clear of abrupt, bouncy, or high-impact movements that could elevate your risk of harm.
Balance—The added weight at the front of your body alters your center of gravity, putting extra strain on your joints and muscles, particularly in the pelvis and lower back. This shift in balance can make you more unstable and increase the likelihood of falls. Go easy!
Breathing—When you engage in physical activity, your body redirects oxygen and blood flow to your muscles, reducing supply to other areas. As your pregnancy progresses, your oxygen needs rise, which might impact your ability to perform intense exercises, especially if you are carrying excess weight. Today we walked an hour, and then 30 minutes at the gym.
