One, this is the actual speed of this massage. I aim for a nice, easy dialog with your nervous system during most of my work. Nothing to get excited about, just getting deep into your body without making you tense up.
Two, I like to work complex joints like shoulders and hips from a lot of angles in a lot of positions. I love traction to invite space where it's needed. I work tissue when it's at its shortest, middle, and full length to keep that dialog dynamic. Broad handed holds and fingertip techniques offer a different sensory input, and both have their place in a good massage.
If you're lifting, doing martial arts or physical competitions, laboring at work, home or in the garden, or if you're spending a lot of time at the computer, your shoulders deserve some attention.
Get on a massage table. Do yourself a favor.
