•If you have private insurance (BCBS, Sanford, etc)you typically do not need a referral.
•If you are insured by Medicare and Medicaid, you DO need a referral by a physician/provider BUT you do not need it from your Primary Care Provider.

FYI-
For anybody needing physical therapy service please be advised:
•If you have private insurance (BCBS, Sanford, etc)you typically do not need a referral.
•If you are insured by Medicare and Medicaid, you DO need a referral by a physician/provider BUT you do not need it from your Primary Care Provider.
•If you’re using IHS/CHS, there is a process that we are not sure of. They do have certain priority levels BUT if you are approved for physical therapy AND require a referral outside of IHS AND choose to come to TMEPT then that is your right! We are getting a lot of phone calls lately from potential patients that are stating they are not allowed to be referred to TMEPT but instead they are being referred to Rolla or Rugby! If that is where you choose to go that is fine but it should be your choice.
