As the school year comes to an end, many children in our community face the challenge of food insecurity. Without the support of school meal programs, these children are at risk of going hungry during the summer months. We believe that no child should have to worry about where their next meal will come from.
We have chosen to partner, once again, with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program, a local organization what works in conjunction with Belen Public Schools to provide food and sanitary supplies to our local kids who are homeless.
To address this urgent need, we are organizing a food drive to ensure that every child has access to nutritious meals throughout the summer. We invite you to join us in this effort to make a difference in the lives of our young neighbors.
How You Can Help:
• Donate Non-Perishable Food Items: Canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other non-perishable items are greatly needed.
• Spread the Word: Share information about our food drive with friends, family, and colleagues to increase community support.
Drop-Off Locations:
• Valencia Health and Wellness
101 N. 6th Streed
Belen, NM 87002
Dates:
• 5/12/25 to 5/23/25
Together, we can ensure that every child in our community has access to the food they need to grow, learn, and thrive. Thank you for your generosity and support.
Warm regards,
Jennifer Trujillo and Cassandra Otero, Valencia Health and Wellness
