πNational Family Caregivers Month is celebrated each November to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country. Family caregivers are defined as family members or someone who is identified as βfamilyβ who provide assistance and support to an individual with a chronic health condition, including mental health and substance use conditions, disability, or functional limitation.
Mental Health America (MHA) had a "Guide for New Caregivers" that breaks down what new caregivers need to know about a loved oneβs care, the rights and responsibilities as a caregiver, and how to manage both the emotional and practical sides of caregiving with compassion and confidence.
