Great article, we don’t always think of massage as needed for our physical and mental health, but it truly is! I think because it feels like we’re pampering ourselves (which we are), it seems like something we only do when we’re really stressed, or hurting. Massage had so many benefits, circulation, getting rid of toxins in our system, great for your skin…we’ll just read below and see for yourself all the benefits!

The time has come to take massage seriously as a mental health intervention.

I’m sorry I’ve missed the past couple of days...don’t have a good reason, just trying to keep busy!

So today, as always if you can get out for some fresh air, please do. It looks like we’ll be inside the next couple of days with the rain...😔.

My tip for today is to give yourself a hand and foot massage. There are so many points on our hands and feet that relate to our organs, so don’t be surprised if you feel better all over after doing this. You can use any type of cream or oil, coconut oil is a good one. Rub, knead, pull your fingers and toes (gently), but spend about 5 minutes on each hand and foot. If you want to wait until you’re watching TV or relaxing this evening that’s a great time to do it.

There are a lot of YouTube videos you can watch or follow along with if you wish? Just search self hand and foot massage and look for one that has lots of views.

Take good care and we’ll get through this! We might even have started some great new ways to take care of ourselves!!

Monday, Monday...and it got away from me! Something to try before going to sleep...relaxation. Start by getting into a comfortable position, and take a few deep, relaxing breaths. Breathe in as deep as you can, and blow it out through your mouth, slow and steady. Next, start by concentrating on relaxing your forehead...yes your forehead...feel the muscles relax...take as long as you need until you feel a difference. Continue breathing...next move to your eyes, then ears, then cheeks, then mouth....you should be asleep by now...

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is enjoying this sunshine today. Since it’s Sunday, day of rest, my suggestion for today is to do just that...with a twist...lay down, get comfy, and stretch. Stretch arms, legs, back, neck, fingers, wrists...anything you can stretch. Can’t stretch it lying down? Stand or sit and stretch whatever feels tight. Hold it for 15 seconds, rest, go on to another part. Stretching shouldn’t hurt, so only stretch until it feels good!

Even though I’m not able to offer massage right now, I’ve been thinking what I can do that might help people deal with the stress we’re all feeling? So, I’m going to post one thing a day for the next few weeks that maybe you can try at home, either alone or with your family, to help us all stay healthy, calm, and thinking positive thoughts! So today’s “thing to do” is go outside and take a walk. But really take time to look at your world around you, actually slow down and look. Take note of what you see, what you smell, how you feel. While walking, make sure to breathe in some good, clean air with deep, full breaths.
