Abby, your dedication has truly paid off - we're thrilled to celebrate your LCSW achievement and can't wait to see the incredible impact you'll make! Abigail Madison

Please welcome our new therapist Abby!!! We are so excited.

Bio: “Hi! My name is Abby! I have been a social worker for the last seven years working with adults and adolescents in the Metro East. I graduated from the University of Illinois with my MSW. Most recently, I have obtained my LSW and am excited to continue working with people in the therapeutic realm. I have a strong background in communication and connecting with those I meet. During my experience in social work, I have utilized CBT, motivational interviewing, and talk therapy.

I strive to provide an inclusive, nonjudgemental, and trusting environment so my clients feel safe and heard. While I typically focus on adults, I welcome all age ranges, demographics, and any intersection of identities that are in need. Working together we will work on coping with stressors and developing mechanisms to assist with stressors in a collaborative effort. I also believe in taking an eclectic approach to counseling and working together to find the best modality for each individual. I believe every person’s story is unique and should be met with unique empathy and compassion”.

“For those of you saying an ID should be required to vote, YES, I agree! However, a married woman will need their name to match the name at birth, on their birth certificate. So if you took your spouses name, you will need to provide a secondary ID (passport). Not everyone has a passport. Not everyone can afford a passport. So this is making people pay for a way to vote, hence a poll tax. This does not affect just married women with spouses’ surnames. Anyone who has changed their name since birth, male or female, are going to be affected.” Thoughts?

Right now, Republicans are trying to pass an even more aggressive version of the SAVE Act, which would make it harder to vote and disenfranchise millions of Americans.

The requirements would disproportionately affect people who can’t afford a passport, can’t take time off work to visit an elections office, or don’t have a birth certificate that matches their married name.

We should be making it easier to vote, not harder. Contact your representatives and tell them to vote NO on the SAVE Act: https://act.redistrictingaction.org/a/natl-saveact-cte

We’re serious about this Ms. Snow Queen!

Some things to remember:

Please don’t park on the street, if you want the snow plows to come by your house.

Be extra careful driving, even if it doesn’t look bad.

Don’t drive if you don’t have to. The crash is not always your fault but why were you out?

Limit time outside but if you have to layer up and be careful for slips and falls especially around yellow snow.

Check on your neighbors, the elderly and friends.

Space heaters…ummm…be REALLY CAREFUL!

Drip your faucets, keep pets inside and make some chili.

Any teacher we see doing a snow dance, asking for snow, could be detained.

If you need us, we will be there!

Be safe.
