Farewell to my Patients

After nearly 47 years in private OB-GYN practice in Belleville, the time has come for me to retire. I have postponed this date as long as possible by retiring in phases. I started private practice in Belleville in July 1979. I practiced Obstetrics for 35 years until 2014, delivering nearly 10,000 babies. I continued office practice and outpatient surgery until 2020 when, during COVID, I stopped doing surgery. My wife, Linda, retired from the practice in January 2021. Linda's health and my own health are fine. I will still be in the office seeing patients until 7-1-2026. We will be unable to do prescription refills after 6-30-2026. We will keep the office open until about
9-1-2026. If you need any office records, please contact us. After
9-1-2026, your records will be put in storage and not readily accessible. There are two OB-GYN groups in Belleville that accept new patients: Advantia (formerly Heartland), 618-997-5266. and BJC Medical group, 618-234-2390.

It has truly been a privilege and a pleasure to provide your OB-GYN care through all these years. I will definitely miss seeing paitents in the office. Linda and I will still be living in Belleville and we always love to run into patients around town. We thank you for your loyalty and confidence in our care.

Due to the winter storm and other circumstances beyond our control, all appointments for Monday and Tuesday (January 26-27) have been canceled. The office will be open for phone calls during normal hours. Other limited services may be available, but please call first. Stay safe everyone and keep warm! We look forward to seeing you soon.

We are on holiday hours this week. The office will be closed December 24th through the 28th, reopening Monday, December 29th. We will be closing at 12 noon, December 31st, and reopening Friday, January 2nd.

On Wednesday, the women of Dr. Herrmann's office were in the "pink" to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month. We want to remind all of our patients to keep up with their yearly mammograms, as age appropriate, and self-breast exams.

Hard to believe that Nurse Practioner Alicia Whorton has already been in the office with us for a whole year! We are so thankful to have her!! Alicia wanted to share a few thoughts with us today:

Hi, I'm Alicia Whorton. I have officially been working with Dr. Herrmann and the wonderful support staff for one year. A little bit about me -- I'm a wife, mother, and Air Force veteran. I graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham. I love to travel, be outdoors, garden, and workout. We're a big soccer family so being located in St. Louis when the military moved us here from Spain, was a huge unexpected bonus, as this is a big deal in STL. As an RN I worked in both surgical trauma, burn ICU and cardiac ICU for a few years. As a nurse practitioner, I currently work in psych, urgent care, and women's health. I love to do things as natural as possible in my personal life. I love functional medicine and preventing disease rather than treating it. I am learning so much from Dr. Herrmann. I am only in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays. I hope to see you and thank you for making it a great first year!
