Today, we celebrate our Hospitalists, 300 physicians and 130 advanced practice providers, across RWJBarnabas Health. Hospitalists are physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work exclusively in hospital medicine. They coordinate care for hospitalized patients and collaborate with community primary care providers to ensure continuity of care when a patient leaves the hospital.

At Clara Maass Medical Center, some of the most powerful moments happen long after a patient leaves our doors. This Heart Month, we were honored to host a special reunion for cardiac survivor Vito Cucci, co-owner of Nanina’s in the Park — a place where so many of our own celebrations have been held. This time, the celebration was his life.

Surrounded by the physicians, nurses, techs, and staff who cared for him during his most critical moments, Vito shared his gratitude, strength, and unwavering spirit. What began as a medical emergency became a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Because behind every heartbeat is a family, a future, and a story still being written. We celebrate Vito’s journey — and the extraordinary Heart & Vascular teams who helped him return to the life and community he loves.

Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes. This year's event will take place on Saturday, March 14 from 8am to 12pm at South Mountain Recreation Complex, Codey Arena, in West Orange.

Through Winter Storm Hernando this weekend, our nurses, physicians, emergency management teams, environmental services teams, facilities staff, security officers, food & nutrition teams, and so many others showed up — and stayed — to ensure our patients were safe, warm, and cared for. While the winds howled outside, compassion filled our halls.

To every employee who braved the storm, walked(!) to work, adjusted schedules, slept on campus, and supported one another — thank you. Your dedication is nothing short of extraordinary.
