๐ŸŽ—๏ธ January is , a time to shine a light on the importance of prevention, early detection, and education about cervical cancer.

Did you know?

Cervical cancer is primarily caused by persistent infection with high-risk strains of HPV (human papillomavirus).

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer globally, affecting individuals with a cervix, including cis-women, transgender men, and non-binary people. In 2020, there were over 570,000 new cases and nearly 310,000 deaths.

Early-stage cervical cancer often shows no symptoms, which is why regular screenings (Pap smears & HPV tests) are essential for early detection.

Common symptoms of cervical cancer may include:
Unexplained vaginal bleeding (between periods or after s*x)
Unusual discharge
Pain during s3xual activity
Lower back or pelvic pain

๐Ÿ’‰ Prevention: The HPV vaccine can protect against the most dangerous strains, and regular screenings can catch abnormalities early, preventing cancer before it starts.
Early detection saves lives. Talk to your doctor about your screening schedule and HPV vaccination options today! ๐Ÿ’–
