Do’s

3. Encourage Independence: Allow them to do tasks within their abilities to boost confidence.

4. Create a Safe Environment: Remove hazards and keep spaces familiar and secure.

5. Be Empathetic: Show understanding and validate their feelings.

6. Engage in Activities: Stimulate the mind with familiar hobbies or sensory activities.

Don’ts

1. Don’t Argue: Redirect or reassure instead of correcting them.

2. Don’t Overwhelm with Choices: Simplify options to prevent frustration.

3. Don’t Use Complex Language: Speak in short, clear sentences.

4. Don’t Take Behavior Personally: Remember, it’s the dementia, not them.
