Nearly 3 million Americans live with Bipolar Disorder, yet stigma and misconceptions around it are still widespread 🧠

Why does this matter? Because stigma is dangerous — it can make people feel judged or misunderstood, causing many to stay silent or hesitate to seek the support they deserve.

That's why, for this , we’re taking a moment to break down misconceptions and share the reality to help create more understanding and remind those living with Bipolar Disorder that they are not alone. 🧡

Share to spread awareness. ✹

Did you know bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder are often mistaken for one another? 🧠

This is usually because both conditions can involve intense shifts in mood — but the patterns behind those shifts are different.

Borderline personality disorder is often marked by quick, reactive mood changes (lasting hours to days), along with a strong fear of abandonment and intense relationships.

Bipolar disorder, on the other hand, involves more defined mood episodes — like depression, mania, or hypomania. These episodes also tend to last longer (days to weeks or more) and aren’t always triggered by what’s happening around you.

While there can be overlap, the timing, duration, and underlying causes of these experiences are not the same.

Understanding the difference can help raise awareness and make it easier for people to get the support that truly fits their needs. 🧡

If you've been showing up for everyone else while quietly falling apart, this is your reminder to let someone show up for you.

You can't be someone's anchor when you're struggling to stay above water yourself.

So this is your reminder that you don't have to keep holding it all together on your own.

You deserve care, too. 🧡

A reminder that depression doesn’t always look the way people expect. đŸŒ§ïž

It can show up in many different ways, like constant exhaustion, irritability, feeling numb, or simply going through the motions while feeling empty inside.

If you don’t see yourself in the stereotypes, your experience is still valid. ✹

Struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing... it means you’re human.

There is no shame in needing support, and asking for help can be a powerful step toward healing.

You don’t have to go through it alone. 🧡
