Today is National Epilepsy Day. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes seizures and unusual behavior due to a central nervous system malfunction.

150,000 Americans are diagnosed with epilepsy each passing year. Experts estimate that 1 in 26 Americans will be diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime, making this a neurological disorder that many people face.

The residents received a Snickers bar for National Snickers Day. The residents said you can never go wrong with chocolate. We used pudding for pureed residents.

Residents enjoyed a piece of Carrot Cake before bingo during Social hour with a cold glass of milk. The cake was very fresh and moist. It is one of the resident’s favorite deserts.

Today is National Women's Physicians Day. This day commemorates the achievements of female doctors across the world. It also marks the birthday of Elizabeth Blackwell, who was the first woman to receive a medical degree in 1849.

Give a shout out to all the women who chose to be a physician! Thank you for all that you do.

The residents enjoyed watching a ground hog day movie with Bill Murray in it. There were so many outbursts of laughing and they also enjoyed the ground hog day snacks that was prepared for residents at the facility. Residents also thought they were too cute to eat, however, they were too good not too.

The residents enjoyed using yarn, pine cones, peanut butter, and bird seed to make bird feeders for the birds to eat and enjoy in our courtyard. It was National Feed a Bird Day on Sunday February 1st so this is the craft the residents decided they wanted to do. The residents enjoy sitting in the dining room watching the birds eat out of our feeders.
