All software companies today have Mobile Apps. That is where the similarity of their app vs the Clubster app ends.

I came across an article on LinkedIn from early April 2026, discussing iOS app downloads for private clubs and organizations, along with opt-in rates for push notifications. The initial data seemed off, as the reported reach percentages were unusually low. So, we conducted our own research to confirm the true reach of mobile apps.

We ran the data through ChatGPT, CoPilot, Claude and Perplexity.AI to ensure accuracy.

First, based on the latest insights, adoption rates for business or event apps tied to memberships vary. A lightly promoted app might achieve 20 to 30% adoption, while with strong promotion or mandatory use, it can reach 50 to 70% or more. After 8 years of data across thousands of clubs on Clubster, we found that about 80% of members download the app by initial rollout and by end of year two.

Next, iOS holds about 65% market share in the U.S.

Second, and here's the crucial part: according to late 2025 and early 2026 data, just 43.9% of iOS users enable push notifications when they download the app. So, when we fully calculate the effectiveness of your club or association’s app for communication, you’re only reaching about 35% of members in real time. 45% don’t allow Push notifications but have the app and 20% NEVER get the app.

It’s startling—this leaves nearly 65% of your members completely out of the loop. Staff now need to make the message in email or text or thru social channels to reach more members........

Did You Know?

This is interesting...was reading about Opt in rates for apps from the iOS platform allowing push notifications. This article said it was about 44% of people opt in to allow Push Notification. That means 56% of your membership don't get your message on your custom app you pay for or built! Additionally you are lucky if you get 80% of your members to do what you ask in the first place! Crazy.

So we asked Chat GPT, Perplexity.ai , Co-Pilot and Cluade.ai...here is what they all basically came back with for their responses which ALL eerily mirrored each other!

"On iOS, the opt-in rate for push notifications is generally lower than on other platforms. Recent data shows that about 43.9 percent of iPhone users opt in, meaning roughly 56 percent do not. Another benchmark places the iOS opt-in rate at around 51 percent, so in that case, about 49 percent don’t enable them. Sources were from late 2025 and 2026 that Chatgpt compiled.

We just finished training a private golf and country Club in PA just now on Clubster. This club joined us this past Thursday and asked if we could train them on Sunday at 4 pm EST as this would work best for their 10 Dept Heads and the 5 or 6 members who were involved in running the Club Groups – like Couples Golf.

Of course we were happy to accommodate our new Client just now. Whatever it takes to help our clubs be successful with their needs and member desires. 😊
