Throw back 2006 studying for my medical board exams while vacationing in Kauai. I was about to start my residency. I had just climbed the mountain of finishing naturopathic medical school. Needing to heal and repair from all the time away from my wife yet faced with the pressure of starting my career and paying back student loans.

And then the reality that Naturopathic Physicians rarely get salaried jobs. So I started my own practice with zero patients. Then week 2 ...I had 1 patient. Bit by Bit. At its heart being an ND is about restoring balance and empowering the body , mind, and spirit to align and produce the best health.

It may sound woo but it's actually the most intellectually stimulating and fascinating journey of biologic science, human behavior, and natural sciences that I could ever imagine.

Three and 3/4 practices that changed my health in 2025.

I did over 3000 kettle bell swings and over 300 Turkish Get ups.

Thanks for the inspiration . You are a game changer

I progressed from struggling with a bodyweight Turkish get-up to confidently performing Turkish get-ups with a 35-lb kettlebell. .

I thoroughly enjoy the kettlebell. I look forward to my workouts.

I also took my HRV readings almost every day through Elite HRV along with the Polar Fitness H
10 device .

I found the proper way to gauge my mental , physical, and restorative practices through consistent HRV monitoring

In addition, I started doing more QIGong with and that got me unstuck and more integrated in my mind body and spirit I hope to be more consistent with this in 2026.

One other practice that is about 70% there is what I learned about nutrition by wearing a cgm everyday. Opened my eyes on how much nutrition is individual and how everybody needs to find out what works for them rather than following fads . I learned more about feeding myself for energy and blood sugar balance and mood regulation, rather than focusing on weight loss hacks. This is a work in progress.

Feeling blessed that I was gifted this today . I just find it so incredibly special when someone buys a gift so personal and so encapsulating of the essence of the energy that I tried to bring to my work and my patients. Thank you for the bottom of my heart. What a wonderful way to wrap up! 2025. Happy holidays and happy New Year.
