We are excited to announce the launch of the HOH Community Training Academy! Classes are open to local businesses, community members and IDD providers. Courses include CPR/First Aid/AED and Mandt 3.0 RCT which is taught weekly.

We'll be holding a donation drive in Grand Island to support Willow Rising, an organization that provides support services for victims of domestic violence. Drop off donations Nov. 17-24 from 8am-4pm.

Participants from Hands of Heartland in Grand Island were awarded the "Volunteer Group of the Year" at Willow Rising’s Empowerment Ally Breakfast & Award Ceremony. Willow Rising is an organization that works with individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence by providing safety, support, education, and survivor empowerment.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! We are proud to share some of the success stories from the Hands of Heartland family.

Joan has worked at the same Subway restaurant location in Norfolk for 26 years. Although the owner is the same, Joan jokes that she’s gone through 15 different managers during her time. “I train them up good and teach them how to do it” she often says. And after all these years of work, she still enjoys a sub sandwich.
