Reflections on The Day of Thanksgiving.
When the holiday season comes, we are all very exited about our time of enjoyment, our uplifted spirits and sharing our presents and gifts. Also, by the long time traditions we thank our family members, friends and food on a holiday table for filling us emotionally and physically, keeping us happy and cheerful. There is a question: ”Why that happens only around the holidays? What about the rest of the year and our regular days of the week? Why do we forget to thank and be grateful every single day?” We often are taken with our work, home chores, families, our problems and etc. We are so taken with all of our issues, that we completely forget to thank our universe and Creator for giving us everything what we have today.
We often take everything for granted and expect that universe with give us unlimited sources of abundance. It really can give us an abundance if we are grateful enough to receive it. We are often playing the role of receivers, as it is easier to manage. You don’t need to do anything for that, just open your hands for the things to "fall down" your way like a rain. We constantly are expecting from others and constantly want something coming in our direction. But we forgot or don’t really want to bother ourselves with universal truth that we have to give out something, when we receive something from universe or others. There is a constant exchange of energies taking place, and we are a big part of that universal “natural exchange market.” We CANNOT only receive all the time, we have to keep a good balance of that fair exchange. It means if we want something for ourselves, then we need to give something to somebody: maybe sharing a food with homeless people, or doing something good for our neighbors. Sometimes even a kind word or a smile at someone, who really needed an attention or a word of encouragement, might create a good energy and safe that person's day.
We have to be as great givers as we are receivers. To be a giver takes an action and energy, when we are giving away our own things. For some folks it is more difficult to do, but it is a good skill to learn, which opens their hearts for greater things and changes in their lives. People of historic cultures knew about that really well. For example, in cultural traditions of Natives well off people were sharing their goods with poor, preparing them for the cold winter months during the cultural gatherings at the Big Houses. This way they supported poor people and kept them warm and well nourished during severe weather months. They also shared their goods and food with Spirits during their rituals of healing, asking them for guidance and protection. Or another interesting tradition, which comes from Mexican Dia de Mu***os, The Day of Dead Spirits, where people were sharing their foods with spirits of the passed away members of the family. That was all about an energy exchange and keeping those energies in balance.
So, even in difficult times it is better to be thankful for receiving our challenges and lessons as an opportunity to learn and to enrich our experiences. Our live challenges are all for our good. And that would be absolutely wonderful making a practice of GRATITUDE as a regular everyday practice. It does not take much of our energies and time: just an intention, focus and a few kind and grateful words, pronounced to the universe.
There’re always plenty of things to be grateful for, tiny or big: that we are alive, have a roof above our heads, have everyday meals, have jobs, family and fiends. Because there are a lot of people on this planet, who don’t have even a slightest part of what we have. They don’t have home, a food to eat, people to talk to or ask for help. We are so blessed with what we already have today. We also can be grateful to our wonderful network of Heavenly Team, who are in heaven and near us to protect and help, when we need that the most. We just can ask and thank them for being our unaltered allies. And most of all, we have to be grateful to our Creator for His Love and Light in our lives, for giving us everything and endless opportunities to learn who we are, what we came for to this planet, and how we can create and change this world for everybody’s best.
Let’s be grateful for all what we have in our lives, making a GRATITUDE RITUAL as our regular every day practice, like a "spiritual food" for every single day. Because the words of GRATITUDE have the highest vibrational energy, which opens the doors for a greater change and abundance in our lives with just a simple THANK YOU...
