When families begin planning a service, it’s natural to have questions about what options are available. Understanding those choices can make a difficult time feel a little more manageable.
Whether you’re considering a traditional funeral, a memorial service, a celebration of life, or cremation or burial services, each option can be personalized to help create a service that feels authentic and comforting.
At Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Our role is to listen, guide, and support your family with care and compassion every step of the way. If you have questions, we’re here whenever you need us.
When planning services for a loved one, it’s often the small, thoughtful choices that bring the most comfort.
Sharing stories or photos, incorporating personal touches like favorite music or readings, and creating moments for quiet reflection can allow a service to truly reflect the life that was lived and loved.
At Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, we’re here to guide families with care, respect, and understanding. If you have questions or need support, we’re always here for you.

When families are making decisions during a difficult time, having clear information can bring peace of mind. One question we’re often asked is whether loved ones can be present for a cremation.
Yes — family members may witness the body being respectfully placed into the cremation chamber if they choose. This option is available by arrangement and can be discussed during your meeting with our funeral director.
We believe every family deserves choices that feel right for them. Our role is to listen, guide, and ensure each service reflects your wishes with dignity and care.
If you have questions or would like to talk through your options, we’re here whenever you need us.
For generations, Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home has been honored to serve the Bellevue community and the families who call it home. 🤍

A new year can bring mixed emotions—especially when you’re carrying the loss of someone you love. 💙
Now that the calendar turned, it’s okay if your heart isn’t ready to “move on.” Grief doesn’t follow timelines, and healing doesn’t reset on January 1st. This year can simply be about taking things one day at a time, honoring memories, and allowing space for whatever you’re feeling—without pressure or expectation.
If the new year feels heavy, please know you’re not alone. Our community has walked this path alongside many families, and we’re always here to listen, support, and care for you in the moments you need it most.

The holiday season often brings connection, reflection, and tradition — but for families coping with loss, it may also bring moments of grief that feel sharper this time of year. A thoughtful quote can serve as a gentle reminder that it’s okay for the holidays to feel different when someone you love is no longer here.
At Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, we understand that grief does not pause for the season. Many people find themselves navigating a mix of emotions — gratitude, sadness, longing, and love — sometimes all at once. It’s important to give ourselves and others the grace to acknowledge those feelings without pressure to “be festive.”
If you or someone in your community is grieving this season, small acts of support can make a meaningful difference. A message, a meal, or simply being present can offer comfort during an emotionally complex time. 🕊️

During this season of reflection, we extend our warmest holiday wishes to the families and community we are honored to serve.
From all of us at Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, we wish you peace, comfort, and gentle moments of hope this holiday season.

The Lawrence T. Miller Funeral home was originally built as a private residence by the Bayne family in the late 1800’s for whom the local park and library are named. The property was eventually deeded to the borough of Bellevue.
In the early 1900’s the property was purchased by the Cray Brothers, owners of the local livery stable, to house Cray Brothers Undertakers and Embalmers. Decades later, it became the (Timothy) O’Shea Funeral Home until purchased in 1957 by Lawrence T. Miller.
Today, The Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Inc. is the ultimate provider of creating healing experiences in the community. The Funeral director is Janice Miller Stein CFSP, The daughter of the late Lawrence T. Miller and Rosemarie Miller, founders of the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home. Janice was born in Bellevue and raised in the family residence above the funeral home - she literally grew up in funeral service.
Janice attended and graduated from Assumption School and Northgate High School. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Lock Haven State College in 1983, Janice attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary of Science where she graduated with honors. She became a licensed funeral director in 1985 and worked alongside her father, until his death in 1996.
