(Wesley Health Centers) is a private non-profit health agency organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. JWCH was established as the Attending Staff Association of the John Wesley County Hospital in 1960 by concerned L.A. These staff physicians sought to establish an agency that could obtain additional funds to support and augment patient care, education, and research at the John Wesley facility. When the hospital was demolished in 1979, the agency continued its efforts to assist LA County patients, but the name was no longer relevant and was subsequently changed to JWCH Institute Inc. Prior to 1979, medical research and education at county facilities were the paramount functions of the agency. However, after 1979, medical services and patient education took priority with a focus on community-based health education and social support programs. We are Federally Qualified Section 330 Community Health Center. Our mission is to improve the health status and well-being of underserved segments of the population of Los Angeles area through the direct provision or coordination of health care, health education services and research. Our organization provided care to more than 12,000 homeless and 60,000 men, women and children through 17 community health centers. Our programs include comprehensive medical care, behavioral health services, Dental and Oral Health care, Vision care, HIV testing, prevention and treatment services, outreach, health education, case management, residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, reproductive health care services and research. JWCH envisions increased access to high quality health care resulting in decreased health disparities among at-risk populations through the expansion of comprehensive and preventative health care programs and services.

Wearing a mask indoors with others reduces the risk of both getting & transmitting the virus. We’re requiring masking for everyone while indoors at public settings & businesses, regardless of vaccination status so that we can stop the increased level of transmission we are seeing.
