Here at CCRS, we believe that community is one of the most important pieces to recovery.

As we are all aware- if the government shutdown continues, there is a high risk that SNAP (food stamp) benefits will be cut off or severely reduced in November because the federal funding will run out. States have started warning residents that benefits may not be issued on November 1st as scheduled, and some have directed their offices to stop accepting new applications and renewals until further notice. The USDA has stated there will not be enough funds for a full month of benefits if the shutdown continues.

We are now hosting a food drive, as we believe that food is a human right, and no one deserves to go without- especially with the upcoming holidays. If you're able to donate, please give us a call or swing by our office! If you are in need, please come see us and we can provide what we can- or help with local resources.

Our Story

Contact Counseling was started over 35 years ago by Bob Chambers. As Bob prepares for his next phase of retirement, he turns this over to the capable hands of Steve Burger, BA/SUDP.

Steve Burger began working the addiction treatment field in 1989 and became fully qualified as a Chemical Dependency Professional in 1990. Over the course of his career he has worked as a counselor, interventionist and trainer in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, hospitals, prisons and schools. He has extensive experience with both adolescent, adult and Native American people recovering from substance use disorders. He joined Contact Counseling in 2009 and took over as Director in 2020 where he provides Substance Use evaluations, counseling, consultation and intervention services. He has been involved in his personal recovery from addiction since May 18, 1988. While Bob remains a consultant, he is no longer accepting new patients.
