Summer is ending and I look forward to the fall. THIS SUMMER was so good and healthy for us. I basically only worked 4 days in August and the rest of the time was in the sun and out on the boat. Last summer the engine had died. That is no small thing. Steve replaced it so we have a strong new Yanmar engine to trust. There is something magical about anchoring out. We have a sit on top kayak to paddle around on and we LOVE that. Everything about it is my happy place. And this summer I feel so much better. I will be 69 soon. I thought of totally retiring but why when I am happy and can get by shutting it down most of August. I am so grateful to have this freedom.

Interesting article on the Everett Clinic which started out physician owned. Now it is Optum Care which we have a satellite in Bellingham. It is a story familiar all across the country. In Bellingham there are a handful of small independent clinics, Family Care Network which is still provider owned, and then the big group PeaceHealth. I hear turn over can be high and there is a swirl of people having to wait to get into Primary Care. I agree with the author that we need a radical change to health care and universal care.

When I joined The Everett Clinic forty-two years ago, we were thirty-some physicians, but now with over 600 care providers and 15 satellite locations, the clinic has evolved significantly.

It's time to update Bellingham Health's page. We moved from Key Street early 2021 to 1050 Larrabee Ave. Suite 204 and 206. Both Steve Bogert and I have rooms upstairs. We love it. The windows are huge with lots of light. I started my private practice in this building over 20+ years ago.

First day open to see patients at Bellingham Health. We are following the rules. Health questions, forehead screening temperature, put on a face mask, and wash hands over and over. Sign a waiver. Wipe surfaces down with alcohol repeatedly. I am happy to be back and getting in the groove with Sandra. Many of our patients still want video care but some things just need to be seen in person.
