I've been tapping into the magic of musical movement for as long as I can remember. And dancing with others always helps me feel better in my body, better about myself and better about the world around me. It’s my favorite way to cultivate connection, creativity, health and joyfulness in my life. I taught Nia 2016 - 2022 and have been facilitating Groove since 2019.

Through the pain and grief of betrayal, abandonment and loss, I've had the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with my heart's many rooms -- meeting all the parts of me with as much courage and compassion, presence and acceptance, strength and softness, honesty and hope as I can muster. The lights and shadows, shrines and ruins, altars and wounds, empty spaces and messy places... all belong in my healing, growing, tender and transforming heart home. Day after day, moment after moment, breath after breath -- I survive, I thrive, I live. Life is so vividly, viscerally, viciously and vivaciously beautiful because I feel it ALL. And I just couldn't and wouldn't be any other way as a person in a body, living a life on this magnificent Mother Earth. So grateful for my capacity to grieve and praise all there is to love in this life I get to live and proud of the way I choose to live it. I truly believe that feeling fully is the path to feeling fully alive.❤️ ✨

Flotsam & Flow: A Creative Day for Women - February 28, 2026

Imagine a day where you dance, play, create, and connect—without worrying if you're "doing it right."

Join us for movement, improv, contemplative collage-making, and creative exploration by the water. This is your invitation to let go of perfection, embrace the process, and discover what emerges when you give yourself permission to just be.

Like sea glass shaped by the journey, you'll leave with something beautiful—a deeper connection to yourself and the women around you.

It's creative exploration. A day to practice "yes, and" instead of "am I doing this correctly?" A day to honor your individual voice within the power of community.

Seemingly "simple" things transform into infinite and intricate little worlds of magic -- and that includes YOU and ME and EVERYTHING alive on this gorgeous, luscious cosmic rock. My little dance bio from the WCC website 💛

Dana has been singing and dancing with friends to feel good for as long as she can remember! She has enthusiastically participated in and led countless group dance fitness classes and silent disco events over the years and believes in the power of simple, authentic dance to create health and joyfulness in her life and in the world. She loves sharing The Groove DANCEfloor Experience with adults, kids, families and seniors in as many settings as possible -- if you can move, you can Groove!

Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Washington University in 2004 and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Azerbaijan '06-'08). Since becoming a certified Nia White Belt Teacher in 2016 and a licensed Groove Facilitator in 2019, she has led hundreds of dance experiences both in-person and online.

Dana loves hiking with her friends, crafting with her daughter and walking with her dog. She enjoys live theater, musical concerts, traveling, poetry, arts/crafts, hearty food and heady conversation.
