This week is National Public Health Week — a time to celebrate the everyday heroes who keep our communities healthy, safe, and thriving. There are countless ways programs and individuals partner with Lummi Population and Public Health Department. From Youth Social Services and Child Welfare teaming up with us to provide a broad reach of support for parents who need help with child passenger restraints, Community Food Program partnering up with us to provide a community friendly location for a vaccine clinic. We are so grateful for all you do and for your willingness to partner. Hy'shqe!

National Public Health Week invites us to renew our commitment to strengthening our systems, science and community partnerships that keep us healthy.

Long before there was a Lummi Population & Public Health Department there were public health heroes who exercised our Tribal Sovereignty to establish, control, operate and deliver public health measures, services and policies to protect the health of the Lummi Nation. Hy'shqe Si'am to all those leaders, health workers, community members who thought far ahead to protect the nation's health. We are grateful for your work and your wisdom.
