Swipe left on that before/after. Same mall. Same floor. Same tile.
This is 40,000+ square feet of VCT flooring inside a Southeast Philadelphia mall — stripped down to bare tile and restored with five coats of commercial floor finish. The catch? The mall never closed.
Stripping and waxing a floor this size in a high-traffic retail environment is a logistics operation as much as a cleaning job. Salt-damaged corridors, overnight-only work windows, food court perimeters, alcoves around storefronts, and zero tolerance for visible cut lines between work zones.
We wrote a detailed walkthrough of the entire project: the five biggest challenges of stripping and waxing a mall floor, the step-by-step process we used, and how facility managers in Philadelphia can tell when their VCT floors are due for restoration.
