I’m going to be honest.
I feel depleted.
I traveled Saturday. Worked all day Sunday packing, cleaning, & moving furniture from morning until evening. And then woke up and started all over again today. I ache. I’m tired. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends & my body is absolutely telling me about it.
Today a full workout felt like too much. Even a long yoga practice felt like too much. And instead of pushing through just to say I did it, I listened.
So I did legs up the wall.
That’s it.
Five quiet minutes. No strain. No sweat. Just me on the floor with my legs resting up the wall. It feels like rest, but it does so much.
Benefits of legs up the wall:
• Gently improves circulation and helps move stagnant fluid out of tired legs
• Calms the nervous system and shifts you out of fight or flight
• Reduces swelling in feet & ankles
• Relieves lower back pressure
• Eases headaches caused by tension
• Supports lymphatic drainage
• Helps regulate breath & heart rate
• Can improve digestion
• Gives your mind a reset when you feel overwhelmed
• Encourages better sleep later
It’s not flashy. It’s not intense. But it works.
I also take a few intentional minutes throughout the day to focus on my breath when I feel stress creeping in. Slow inhale. Slow exhale. Over and over. We are all under a lot collectively right now. You can feel it everywhere. And your nervous system feels it too.
Some days you don’t have it in you to go all in. That doesn’t mean you do nothing. It means you choose something supportive.
Five minutes on the floor. Five minutes with your breath. It costs nothing. But it can change the entire tone of your day.
This is your real time reminder. You don’t have to earn rest. You can take it.
Much love. Hang in there friends.
