As the chill of winter creeps in, so does a heartbreaking reality: more and more of our neighbors—families, children, seniors—are facing the cold without a place to call home.

At Community Action’s Twin Oaks Shelter for The Homeless, the need is high. Right now, 102 households—205 individuals—are waiting for shelter. That’s 205 lives in limbo. And with only 12 residential units, our team is doing everything we can, but we simply cannot meet the overwhelming demand alone.

These are not just numbers. These are mothers trying to keep their children warm, veterans who’ve served our country, and individuals who’ve fallen on hard times—all hoping for a safe place to sleep, a hot meal, and a chance to rebuild.

We need your voice. Advocacy matters. By sharing this message, you help shine a light on the crisis. You help us reach those who can provide funding, resources, and support. You help us fight for change.
