Supporting the Spirit of Life

Beloit Regional Hospice is a non-profit organization that provides expert medical care, pain management, emotional and spiritual support to those coping with a life limiting illness and their families. To be eligible for Beloit Regional Hospice, the patient must:

—Reside in Rock, Green, Walworth, Boone, McHenry, Winnebago, or Stevenson county

—Have a physician-diagnosed life expectancy of six months or less

—Be seeking comfort and quality of life, rather than life-prolonging care

Hospice staff, family, and local veteran James Bell recently gathered at Riverside Terrace to honor 101-year-old World War II veteran Robert “Bob” Pederson. 💜

After graduating from Beloit High School, Bob served as a medic in the Pacific Theater, including Okinawa and Saipan. He was recognized with a special ceremony, certificate, and pin through the We Honor Veterans program.

We had our second annual Hospice & Palliative Care staff retreat—a day to recognize our clinicians, spend time learning together, and connect as a team.

We heard from a few great speakers, including Rich from Security on situational awareness. One of the highlights was a visit from our patient “Magic Bill,” a longtime local magician, who performed for the team while celebrating his 103rd birthday. We were able to enjoy the show and help him celebrate the milestone with a round of Happy Birthday.
