To Ashlye, Kelly, Alexa, and Sophia - thank you for the passion, creativity, and love you pour into our residents every single day. You don’t just plan activities… you create moments, connections, and memories that mean the world. The smiles, laughter, and joy you bring into this building are truly priceless.

To show just a small piece of our appreciation, we treated these ladies to Texas Roadhouse and surprised them with a personalized gift, because the care and heart they give deserve to be celebrated in return. 🤍

We are so thankful for each of them and so proud to have them on our team.

We laughed, we played, we made a big to-do, because today was all about the kazoo! 🎵 From silly songs to smiles so bright, our residents made today an absolute delight. Happy National Kazoo Day from Rockland Ridge! 💛

We’re excited to spotlight Andrew Whipkey, who works in our Housekeeping/Laundry Department here at Rockland Ridge! 🌟 Andrew has been with us for about three months, and this is his first position in long-term care. He has already become a great addition to our team.

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Rockland Ridge, Andrew shared that it’s “getting to know the residents and working with my mom.” His mom, Maria, is one of our dedicated CNAs and has been part of the Rockland Ridge family for over two years. It’s always special to see family working together and caring for our residents side by side. 💙

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys learning to play guitar, riding four-wheelers with his brothers, and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. 🎸🎣🦌

And here are a few fun facts about Andrew: he threw a no-hitter in his championship baseball game, played quarterback for his football team all eight years he played, and even shot his first deer at just 8 years old!

We’re grateful to have Andrew on our team and appreciate the positive energy and hard work he brings to Rockland Ridge each day!

Today we held our very first Rockland Readers Book Club meeting, and our hearts are so full! 📖

This club began because our Administrator, Chelsea, loves reading and knew this was a passion shared by so many of our residents. She wanted to create a space to connect, share stories, and enjoy the magic of books together. That vision truly came to life today.

For our first read, we dove into Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café, and the conversations were wonderful. Residents shared memories from their own lives, laughter filled the room, and meaningful connections were made. It was special to witness.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Meigs County District Public Library for providing our yearly book club list and for supplying copies of each month’s selection. Their support has helped make this special experience possible, and we look forward to many meaningful moments ahead. 📚🤍

Yesterday was National Hat Day, and we definitely tipped our hats to the fun! 🎩🧢👒 From silly to stylish, our staff and residents showed off their personalities with all kinds of hats and plenty of smiles to match. Thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a fun one at Rockland!

As we step into a new year, we want to take a moment to recognize someone who helped shape Rockland Ridge from the very beginning.

Chef Jeff has been with Rockland since day one, pouring his heart into every meal and helping make our community what it is today. His dedication, passion, and care went far beyond the kitchen! He helped create comfort, connection, and countless memories for our residents and staff alike.

As Chef Jeff begins his well-earned retirement, we thank him for the incredible impact he’s had on Rockland Ridge. We wish him nothing but happiness, relaxation, and many delicious meals ahead. You will always be a part of the Rockland family. 💙

Congratulations to our December Employee of the Month, Dora Ferguson, CNA! You might remember getting to know Dora when she was featured as our Employee Spotlight back in October, and we are proud to now recognize her for the incredible care she provides every day at Rockland Ridge.

Dora was nominated for her outstanding patience, compassion, and genuine love for our residents. Her calm, gentle demeanor brings comfort and reassurance, and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe, happy, and cared for. Dora’s dedication to maintaining routine and consistency helps create a positive, stable environment for those we serve.

We are so grateful to have Dora as part of our Rockland Ridge family. Thank you, Dora, for the kindness and heart you bring to your work. You truly make a difference! 💛

We are so grateful for Bob and Delores Strahler, who faithfully host a Bible study group here at Rockland twice a month with our residents. 💙

This Christmas, Delores went above and beyond by painting beautiful, personalized canvases for each member of the group. Every painting was thoughtfully created with something special to each resident, from an owl for a resident who loves owls, to a cardinal for another who cherishes cardinals. 🦉❤️🐦

The artwork was absolutely beautiful, but the love and care behind each piece made it even more meaningful. Thank you, Bob and Delores, for pouring your time, talent, and hearts into our residents. We are truly blessed to have you as part of the Rockland family.

Fa la la la Flannel Day was next in our 12 “Dress-Up” Days of Christmas! 🎄🧣 Staff and residents stayed cozy and festive while rocking their favorite flannel looks. The plaid, the smiles, and the holiday spirit made it another fun-filled day at Rockland! ❤️
