Hey, I’m Dr. Alex Fenson 👋
I’m a hometown Bemidji kid who found my way into optometry a little unexpectedly.
I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do at first, but during a college internship I had the chance to shadow Dr. Hess at 3rd Street Optical — and that’s when I realized eye care is about so much more than just glasses and contacts. There’s real health involved, and even better, real relationships. I liked the idea of getting to see patients year after year and building those connections over time.
Coming back to Bemidji was always the goal for me, and I officially moved back this summer. I started at White Spruce at the beginning of August and I’m excited to be here serving the community I grew up in.
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll probably find me at CrossFit Bemidji, on the golf course, out on the lake in the summer, dancing, or occasionally slinging pizzas at Dave’s. 🍕
