Southside Physical Therapy

Southside Physical Therapy Southside Physical Therapy is here to help you get back to work, play, and everyday life after injury or illness.

For over 20 years, we have been proudly serving the people of Bend and surrounding Central Oregon. Our team at Southside Physical Therapy provides one-to-one manual therapy for treating the whole person rather than simply the injured area. Our physical therapists work to identify and treat the root cause of the problem to find long-term solutions rather than only treating the side effects for short-term relief.

Part one of our pelvic floor training series- yoga ball edition!

A strong pelvic floor = better lumbopelvic stability, improved load transfer, and less pain with everyday movement. But pelvic floor training isn’t just isolated Kegels—it’s about timing, coordination, and integrating these deep stabilizers with the diaphragm, core, and hips.

When the pelvic floor isn’t doing its job, patients may show:
• increased low-back or hip tension
• difficulty controlling intra-abdominal pressure
• “gripping” patterns through the abs or glutes
• leakage with impact or heavy lifts
• decreased efficiency with functional movement

In PT, we’re not just strengthening—we’re teaching the pelvic floor to relax, contract, and coordinate with the rest of the system.
