Southside Physical Therapy

Southside Physical Therapy Southside Physical Therapy is here to help you get back to work, play, and everyday life after injury or illness.

For over 20 years, we have been proudly serving the people of Bend and surrounding Central Oregon. Our team at Southside Physical Therapy provides one-to-one manual therapy for treating the whole person rather than simply the injured area. Our physical therapists work to identify and treat the root cause of the problem to find long-term solutions rather than only treating the side effects for short-term relief.

Dizziness, nausea, and blurry vision are the most common symptoms most people associate with vestibular dysfunction—but they aren’t always present. Some ‘hidden’ symptoms can be clues too. This list isn’t all-inclusive, and symptoms vary from person to person. If this sounds familiar, don’t ignore it—an assessment can make a big difference in your daily life!

If you run, you should be training one leg at a time.
Running is essentially a series of single-leg hops—so your strength work should reflect that.

Single-leg exercises help:
• Improve balance and control
• Build hip and knee stability
• Reduce injury risk
• Increase power and efficiency

Start simple and master control first—then add weights.

Rotator cuff series — starting with the basics 👇🏼

Today we’re breaking down rotator cuff anatomy so you can actually see what these muscles do and why they matter.

The rotator cuff is made up of 4 muscles that stabilize and move the shoulder — and it’s one of the most commonly involved structures in shoulder pain.

📊 Some stats to keep in mind:
• About 20–25% of adults over 65 have a full-thickness rotator cuff tear on imaging
• If you include partial tears + degenerative changes, that number climbs even higher
• Many tears are asymptomatic — meaning structure ≠ pain

Understanding the anatomy is the first step in understanding injury, rehab, and prevention.
