Cultivating a Spiritual Garden
Our flowers are patience, kindness, generosity, unconditional love, trust, faith, peace, serenity, wisdom, abundance, joy and bliss. Every flower needs sunshine, water, pruning, care and tending. Meditation, calming the restless mind and tuning in and connecting to an infinite source, is the sunshine. Affirmations, replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, is the watering. Gratitude, being thankful for what we have and for what we don’t have, is the pruning. Inward Motivation, taking responsibility for our own happiness,
is the care. And Conscious Choices, changing habitual negative actions and re-actions in the moment, is the tending. The daily practice of these is our spiritual well being. Weeds, on the other hand, grow and spread and take over our garden at a very fast rate. The weeds are fear, doubt, anger, envy, jealousy, greed, lack, self-pity, selfishness, impatience, restless discontent, anxiety, indecision, ignorance and indifference.
The daily practice of these creates dis-ease.
