Meet Hernie🐾

Hernie is an adorable orange tabby boy, who is looking for a patient and loving home. He is truly one of the sweetest, most loving cats you’ll ever meet.

More about Hernie from his current home:
Hernie is calm, easygoing, and absolutely loves affection. He enjoys lounging in sunny spots, curling up in our dog’s bed, and having supervised time outside. He does great with our dogs and is gentle around kids.
Hernie likely has cerebellar hypoplasia or "wobbly cat syndrome", meaning his brain didn’t fully develop before birth. We have not had imaging done to confirm this diagnosis, however after meeting Hernie, the vet made the educated assumption that this is what he has based on his presentation. This condition does not predispose him to any other medical conditions; he is a very happy cat who is just wobbly when he walks. He can’t jump and has some limitations with stairs (he may go down but can’t reliably come back up). Despite this, he is very good at getting around when he wants.
For full disclosure, Hernie does have arthritis in his knees and his dental health is not the best. He has not shown any difficulty or pain when eating, but the diagnosis is still something to consider before asking to meet him.

A few more important notes:
He needs to be supervised outside or checked on frequently if he has a secured outdoor area. He can not move super quickly or defend himself well if anything were to try to harm him.
He is neutered.
We do not know his exact age, but expect him to be no younger than about 7.
He is current on vaccines as of now.
He does well with dogs and kids, but benefits from a private, easy-to-access feeding area since he can’t jump.
He uses the litter box perfectly with no issues at all, but the litter box does need to be low to the ground given his inability to jump.

If you or someone you know might be a good fit, please contact us at info@felinefinevet.com and we would love to connect you to his current owners and set up a time for you to meet Hernie.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about sweet Hernie and assisting his owners in finding this lovely boy a home. 💛
