• Professionally greeting and checking in patients. Obtaining and verifying/updating patient information including demographics, insurance information and coverage, etc.
• Proficiently operating multi-line telephone system. Answering phones/returning calls promptly and professionally.
• Receiving and accurately/thoroughly documenting telephone, fax, and web-based encounters/messages into electronic health record, routing to the appropriate staff member/provider and escalating as appropriate.
• Accurately placing and transmitting orders for labs/imaging.
• Accurately and efficiently scheduling visits, adhering to scheduling rules for optimization.
• Collecting and accurately posting patient payments. Ability to explain account status and payment details to patients.
• Communicating efficiently and professionally throughout the office with all patients/staff/providers, ensuring quality patient care and office workflow.
• Strictly adhering to HIPPA rules and regulations.
• Maintaining a clean and professional work environment, light cleaning/housekeeping as needed.
• New patient forms

West Bend Family Medicine is looking for an adaptable and experienced medical assistant to join our thriving medical practice. We are a small family medicine clinic located in NW Bend with a dynamic and supportive care team and a fun work environment. The job would involve traditional MA duties as well as back-up to the medical receptionist.

Hours: Part-time (.50 FTE)
Monday, Thursday, Friday 10:30 am to 5:00 pm
Pay/Compensation: $18/hour, negotiable DOE

Job Functions/Duties:
• Procedures and Studies: Suture removal, dressing changes, ear lavage, sleep studies, EKGs, etc.
• Labs: Urine, pregnancy, A1C, PKU, PPD, Strep, COVID, DNA & allergy testing coordination, and any other minor in-office labs
• Labs: Certification in phlebotomy, or willing to obtain
• Vaccines: Ordering, administering, and documenting for independent vaccine visits
• Stocking/Maintenance: Autoclave care, supply ordering, exam room stocking, occasional light cleaning
• Patient Liaison: Triage EMR (eCW) patient portal and voice mail messages, relay information, answer questions, facilitate care
• Administration: Assist doctors with prescription refills, laboratory and imaging orders, prior authorizations, email account management, referrals, and scheduling
• Back up the receptionist with phones and check in if not otherwise busy with face-to-face patient care
• Cross training on duties as assigned by Office Manager
• Other duties as assigned.

Megan will begin seeing patients on April 25, 2022!

After living in Hawaii for 14 years, Megan Lewis and her family moved to Central Oregon and made it their home in 2018. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2007 and a Master’s in 2009 from the University of Hawaii before going on to earn a Doctorate in Nursing from Frontier University in 2017. Megan will complete her post graduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health this Spring. She looks forward to adding mental health services to her family practice model of holistic care. She has a passion to develop a care plan that is individualized, compassionate, and reflective of patient centered health and wellness. She has a passion for serving rural populations and believes in the importance of health education and patient advocacy. She looks forward to bringing her skills and “aloha” spirit to our community and getting to know you and your family in order to build trust and develop a working relationship centered on integrity and partnership.

At West Bend Family Medicine, Megan offers primary medical care to all ages, Psychiatric care and evaluations, Addiction Medicine that includes Suboxone supported treatment, CDL physicals, and acute and chronic health care services.
