April’s Top Five Astro-Events

1. Pallas octiles Ceres on the 6th but is within range of being an active dynamic from the 1st through 18th. The parent-child relationship may become a primary focus of emotional and mental energy for those who come under the influence of these two dwarf planets during this interval.

2. Mars conjoins Saturn in Aries on the 19th and is made highly productive from the 14th through 21st via the ongoing sextile to Pluto in Aquarius. Those with prominent planets at 5º to 8º of the cardinal signs will most benefit from this forceful duo that finds and overcomes adversity and resistance.

3. Juno conjunct Pluto becomes exact on the 20th but is a strong influence from the 15th through 24th. This astro-event dovetails nicely with the Mars-Saturn conjunction ( #2 above) while emphasizing the role of alliances in your activities.

4. Following a six-month retrograde phase in late Ta**us, Uranus definitively enters Gemini on the 25th, where it remains until August 2032 when it enters Cancer. Political astrologers have long recognized Uranus in Gemini as marking historical turning points.

5. The New Moon in Aries takes place on the 17th (7:50 am EDT) and marks a decisive new beginning by conjoining the rowdy Chiron-Eris conjunction. At this time, astrologers will note that we have eight planets in Aries, a rare accumulation of headstrong, me-first, gung-ho energy.

Three Iran Synchronicities

Do you ever feel that the universe is talking to you? Call it coincidence, synchronicity, or an angelic message, sometimes things happen that make you aware of your connection to a larger consciousness. This happened to me several times over the past two weeks as I was musing over what to write about the ongoing war in Iran. Here are three such incidents:

The first one took place when I was at an appointment with my eye doctor. I was put in a small consultation room while a technician prepared me for the doctor’s visit. The computer screen showed a full-color close-up photo of Mars and I asked the technician, “Did you know that Mars is the God of War?” She said these images are randomly generated and didn’t know anything else about it. It was the only image I could look at after she left and I awaited the doctor.

Yes, the war was on my mind at that time, but the next incident seemed even more unusual. I play pickleball regularly and especially on Wednesday in a round-about tournament. Last week I partnered with someone new, someone I’d never seen before. He said his name was Babak and I asked him where he was from and was surprised to hear “Iran.”

Although I’m no longer doing personal readings, the third incident involved a former client. Two weeks ago she wrote to me, saying, “If you happen to be working on the chart for the new leader of Iran (and I hope you are!), I wanted to send this to you for a head start because I just found out that he and I share the same birthday.” This client (who shall remain nameless) not only shares the same birthday as Mojtaba Khamenei but they were born in the same year on September 8, 1969.

US Scorpio Rising Chart Outlook

The US is in an obvious and historic developmental phase, which the transits and progressions to the US Scorpio Rising horoscope clearly reflect. The widely unpopular war against Iran is only the latest bizarre and apparently random event initiated by Trump. This goes along with his natal Sun-Uranus conjunction and the concurrent octile transit of Uranus to the US Sun in Cancer. This creates a double theme or a resonant national vibe that dominates the daily news stories.

The confusing and contradictory reasons given for Trump’s war on Iran coincide with Mercury’s retrograde cycle. The first wave of bombs struck on February 28, killing Mojtaba Khamenei’s father, wife, son and other close relatives. This was just as Mercury turned retrograde at 22º Pisces — right on Mojtaba’s Mars and exactly squaring Trump’s Sun at 22º Gemini (which in turn conjoins the US Mars).

Mercury turns direct on March 20, the same day as the Spring Equinox. At that time, Mercury will be at 8º Pisces where it forms a supportive trine to the US Scorpio Ascendant. It will also be trine to Trump’s Mercury at 8º Cancer. Ideally, if he’s listening at all to the nation’s antiwar sentiment, he’ll feel it in his bones to end this Middle East conflict.

What the American people can do about the Trump regime’s abuse of power is send a collective message. This is shaping up on No Kings Day 3.0, scheduled for March 28, just as the US progressed Midheaven at 24º Aries squares natal Mercury at 24º Cancer. The evolution of the nation’s status (progressed Midheaven) is all about sending an effective collective message (Mercury).

The US Moon at 25º Aquarius represents the people and their security needs. This natal Moon is also under major activation around the time of No Kings Day: the transiting Chiron-Eris conjunction at 25º Aries forms an exact sextile to the US Moon. In Aries, this becomes a troublemaking, aggressive duo and shakes up the population to —in no uncertain terms — act how they feel about Trump spending $1 billion/day on a useless attack on Iran.

Pete Hegseth’s Holy War

As Jupiter, the planet we associate with religion, turns direct in Cancer, the sign of the homeland, many serving military members are filing complaints that US commanders are evoking Armageddon to inspire their troops in the war on Iran. Commanders from every arm of the military are telling their units that this war is “anointed by Jesus” and is “all part of God’s plan.”

Hegseth’s Sun in Gemini squares a Mars-Saturn conjunction in Virgo, which is placed in the 9th house of religion. Saturn in this house often manifests as religious fundamentalism, and Mars here is willing to fight for it. He sponsors a monthly Christian service at the Pentagon and leads a weekly White House Bible study that preaches evangelical Christian practices and support for Israel.

What’s unusual about Hegseth’s chart is that he has Black Moon Lilith right on his Midheaven. Lilith is totally repressed in this case due to the religious programming that women should be subservient to men, a belief that Hegseth has long promoted. A repressed Lilith leads to intense resentment and explosive rage.

When Lilith gets activated by major transits or progressions, she can’t hold back her anger and can become psychologically, emotionally, or physically violent. And that’s exactly what is happening now. His natal Lilith is at 6º59’ Libra and at this writing his progressed Mars is at 6º52’ Libra, or only 0º07’ from being precise.

However, transiting Saturn will be opposing his Midheaven and Lilith over the coming month. This suggests that constraints are being imposed by forces outside his control. As Saturn enters his 4th house of home he will likely find that the domestic political situation becomes a serious challenge to his military plans. Last week, Republican Senators overwhelmingly voiced support while Democrats called the invasion an illegal, regime-changing war. Hegseth’s response was, “we’re just getting started.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the US Horoscope

As I describe in my book, Political Astrology, one of the best ways to interpret a candidate’s political potential is to compare it to the US national chart. I’ve long promoted the Scorpio Rising chart (set for 2:21 pm, July 4, 1776) which gives extra importance to the Pluto at 27º Capricorn and the Moon at 25º Aquarius. Candidates with natal or progressed planets aligning with these degrees will do better than candidates without these links.

First, AOC has her natal Black Moon Lilith at 27º31’ Libra, which is only 0º02’ from exactly squaring the US Pluto. This paints her as an outsider, a feminist carrying rage and demanding fairness — which is exactly what many voters are looking for after Trump’s autocratic cover-up of the Epstein File. She’s out there every day making comments on social media and otherwise encouraging people to organize and act.

She was born with the asteroid Hygeia at 25º Sagittarius (sextile the US Moon), perhaps reflecting her popular promotion of clean and honest elections. And when the astrologer uses the 8th harmonic set of aspects, she has several more links to the US Moon. The tightest one is her natal Jupiter (the ruler of her chart with Sagittarius Rising) at 10º29’ Cancer which is only 0º01’ from the trioctile (135º) to the US Moon at 25º28’ Aquarius.

Her Jupiter participates in multi-planet oppositions between Cancer and Capricorn. Concerning her presidential aspirations, she has a progressed Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 10º Capricorn, which is octile (45º) to the US Moon. This is what is happening now, and her future candidacy and influence over the general population is bound to grow over the coming two years.

This can be seen through her progressed Midheaven, now at 12º Scorpio and applying to a conjunction with her powerful natal Pluto at 14º Scorpio. Her Pluto is key since it harmonizes the planets in her Cancer/Capricorn axis. The Democrats’ political machine will also take increasing interest in her message with her progressed Sun sextile progressed Vesta, which is exactly conjunct the US Pluto at 27º Capricorn. This makes her a rising star on the political scene.

March’s Top Five Astro-Events

1. The Full Moon in Virgo on the 3rd is a Lunar Eclipse (6:37 am EST). This one is special because it’s a total eclipse of the Moon for a full 58 minutes, and because it’s at sunrise in Washington, DC with the Sun conjunct the political asteroid Pallas.

2. Chiron conjoins Eris at 24º Aries on the 19th, but this troublemaking duo is in effect all month. Chiron and Eris aren’t traditional planets like Saturn and Neptune, so not many astrologers are paying attention to their interaction, their conjunction.

3. The relatively fast-moving Mars in Pisces activates the Chiron-Eris conjunction in mid-month. Consider the 12th through 16th a high-energy phase when impulsive, directed actions take center stage, either in you or in the people around you.

4. The Spring Equinox takes place on the 20th (at 10:46 am EDT), the same day that Mercury turns direct, and just two days after the New Moon. These three concurrent astro-events all signal a new beginning, a fresh start.

5. Saturn sextiles Pluto on the 28th and is within one degree (making it significant) from the 18th through the first week of April. Those under the influence of this highly constructive dynamic can do much to advance their goals, fulfill their ambitions, and get involved with others for a shared interest or cause.

Pam Bondi and the Epstein File Cover-Up

What’s striking about Pam Bondi is how charming and engaging she can be with her allies. Her Venus is octile (semisquare) her Scorpio Sun, bestowing pleasant qualities, especially when it advances her professional life or personal goals (Venus in Capricorn). But she has a kind of Jekyll/Hyde condition in that when she meets perceived political opponents, she becomes mean spirited and attack oriented. This split personality is evident in her natal T-square that pits her Mercury in Sagittarius against a powerful polarity between her Virgo and Pisces planets.

During the hearing, her progressed Mars (using a noon birth time) was at 19º27’ Aquarius where it made a precise quincunx (150º) to her progressed Uranus at 19º23’ Virgo. Adding to her aggressive attitude is the transiting Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which squares her natal Mars. One way of reading this is that Saturn represents the institutional cover-up posed by transiting Neptune. The square to her Mars activates her defiant response to her political situation.

Bondi has been loyal to Trump since 2013 when she made a pivotal professional decision. In August 2013, as Florida’s attorney general, she was considering joining a lawsuit against Trump University for tax fraud. However, on August 28 — four days after the lawsuit was filed — she received a $25,000 donation from the Donald J. Trump Foundation. Soon after, Bondi declined to join the lawsuit against Trump University.

At the time, her progressed Sun was at 13º Capricorn where it aligned with the US Sun at 13º Cancer. When she received Trump’s surprise donation, transiting Jupiter was at 13º Cancer and exactly aligned with her progressed Sun. At that point, she had her political future in sight, which was a profitable and successful alliance with Trump.

But now she’s under major stress from transiting Saturn squaring her Mars, transiting Pluto activating her T-square, and her progressed Mars-Uranus quincunx. Demands for her impeachment, incarceration, and resignation are increasing on both sides of the aisle.

Venus-Saturn and Mackenzie Scott

Both Jeff Bezos and his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott (April 7, 1970; 6:20 am; San Francisco, CA), were born with a business-savvy Venus-Saturn conjunction. His Venus-Saturn is strained by a square to Juno, the marriage asteroid. This natal setup inevitably brought trouble to his marriage, a confrontation over values. What is important in life, what should the third wealthiest man in the world do with all his money?

In 1994, Mackenzie and her husband co-founded Amazon which began as an online marketplace for books. For the next few years, she helped develop Amazon with a business plan, through accounting, and getting the company’s first freight contract. After 1996, she shifted into caring for their children and her literary career.

On January 9, 2019 the couple announced their separation, a sudden shift that surprised most everyone — except for those who were reading The National Enquirer. Bezos had secretly taken up with Fox news anchor Lauren Sanchez. At the time, transiting Uranus was at 28º Aries and exactly conjunct Mackenzie’s Aries Ascendant. Uranus, the divorce planet, eventually brought Mackenzie $36 billion in Amazon stock (6% of the company) and made her one of the wealthiest women on the planet.

Since then, the value of her Amazon stock has gone up, but Mackenzie Scott has become famous for donating $billions to various charities. Transiting Uranus brought out the fundamental difference between what she values and what Jeff Bezos values. Her Venus opposite Jupiter shows her generous side, and on May 25, 2019 she signed up to The Giving Pledge, an organization of global philanthropists.

Several tight astrological influences were in play at this time, including her progressed Midheaven sextile natal Venus. Since then, with her progressed Ceres conjoining her natal Aries Sun, she’s given away some $26 billion to hundreds of organizations. She’s become a caretaker (Ceres) supporting non-profits that focus on racial equality, gender equality, democracy, climate change and many others.

Melania Trump’s Film Premiere

Melania was born with a Sun-Saturn conjunction in Ta**us (April 26, 1970 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia), a combination that finds fulfillment through financial security and a stable home life. Her Sun-Saturn is strongly supported by a trine to her Moon in ambitious Capricorn, but she also has a spicy independent streak with her Sun’s tight quincunx to Uranus in Libra.

Unfortunately, we have no AA-rated birth time for Melania, but I’m using a speculative, rectified time of 7:10 pm. This gives her Scorpio Rising and puts her Sun-Saturn conjunction right on her Descendant. It accounts for her serious, penetrating glare as well as her rise in status due to “others,” and most specifically, Donald Trump. Melania was introduced to Trump in September 1998 and they began dating soon after during her Saturn Return.

Melania’s Black Moon Lilith at 15º Leo conjoins Vesta near her Leo Midheaven, which shaped her professional life as a glamorous, enchanting model. Lilith here demands to be treated equally, yet it squares her play-by-the-rules, partnership-oriented Saturn. This creates a lifelong pattern of restraining herself to maintain her primary relationship. When Lilith is forced to be quiet, she gets filled with rage and resentment, something that seems obvious in recent photographs.

The one hard aspect to her natal Venus is an opposition from Neptune at 0º Sagittarius. Her progressed Neptune has retrograded to 28º43’ Scorpio, only 0º04’ from opposing her natal Venus. This suggests that disillusionment and disappointment may arise, even though she’ll pocket $28 million from the venture (according to The Wall Street Journal). The February 17 Solar Eclipse is exactly squaring her Venus-opposite-progressed Neptune.

Directly ahead, transiting Saturn in late Pisces is entering into a challenging square to her progressed Sun at 29º Gemini, which confirms the ego-deflating negative reception audiences are giving her film. And with the Solar Eclipse right on Donald’s Descendant, the film’s box office numbers may have a direct effect on their relationship.

The Top Five Astro-Events to the US Scorpio Rising Chart

A regular reader is concerned about what she sees in the Scorpio Rising US horoscope. “The progressed chart of the US looks especially foreboding,” she writes. “Add the transits and I would love for you to share your insights.” Here are the major US astro-events shaping up over the next three months:

1. Two Mars-related dynamics keep everyone concerned about armed conflicts. ICE’s over-reach and US military intervention in Greenland, Iran, Cuba, and elsewhere become very real possibilities due to the US progressed Sun’s square to natal Mars. Adding to this is the faster moving US progressed Moon opposite the US progressed Mars on February 12.

2. Transiting Uranus turns direct at 27º27’ Ta**us on February 3 while forming a near exact trine to the US Pluto, the ruler of the Scorpio Rising chart. This astro-event supports the nation’s most powerful players, which includes the oligarchy that has control over the political, social, and economic systems.

3. The Solar Eclipse on February 17 takes place at 28º49’ Aquarius and activates at least three vital points in the US horoscope. It’s just three degrees past the US Moon at 25º28’ Aquarius, and sends a celestial danger signal to the American people since it also squares transiting Uranus.

4. The Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0º45’ Aries becomes exact on February 20. This outer planet combination is key because it’s trioctile (135º) to the US Midheaven in Leo. It brings historic events that re-shape the international status and reputation of the US as the world’s leading superpower.

5. The US progressed Midheaven squares natal Mercury on March 27. This astro-event may bring a decisive shift to Trump’s tenure in office. Simultaneously, this phase coincides with the Chiron Return of Nixon’s resignation in 1974. Trump might resign or leave for health reasons. Or he may invoke the Insurrection Act, declare a national emergency, and cancel midterm elections. What do you think?

Walk for Peace

Trump’s progressed Moon is entering his 4th house and will square his imperial Mars in Leo on April 15. This angular, forceful combination is making him unusually bellicose and aggressive on a variety of fronts. Whether it’s a natural distraction from the Epstein File, the health care crisis, or his collapsing approval ratings, Trump is becoming increasingly willing to use military force to gain the upper hand.

In the US horoscope, a parallel militaristic development is shaping up along the same timeline: the US progressed Sun is currently at 21º07’ Pisces and nearly square the US Mars at 21º17 Gemini. This one will be exact on March 18, but it’s already well within orb to be a recognizable dynamic. The progressed US Sun represents the nation’s leadership, and Mars is the nation’s war planet. This doubled astrological theme makes Trump’s threats real and dangerous.

In sharp contrast to the martial forces shaping the national dialogue, a group of Buddhist monks have embarked on an ambitious 2,300-mile walk with the stated intention of raising awareness about peace, loving-kindness, and compassion in the US and around the world. They began at 9:30 am* on October 26, 2025 at Fort Worth, Texas and expect to reach Washington DC in late February.

A horoscope drawn for this first step helps us understand their goals and how well they will proceed. At first glance, the cluster of planets around the Scorpio Ascendant is most telling. Mars in Scorpio is particularly determined, powerful, and single-minded. It’s closely conjunct Black Moon Lilith which suggests their silent mission. Mercury in Scorpio is nearby, a placement well known for its quiet demeanor, but also for carrying the message of the world’s mysteries.

These Scorpio planets certainly have a dark side, but in this case they are harmoniously contained within a Water Grand Trine, which brings out their best qualities. Mercury, Mars, Lilith and the Scorpio Ascendant are all trine the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in late Pisces, which in turn is trine Jupiter in Cancer. Famed astrologer Noel Tyl describes the Water Grand Trine as a “closed circuit of emotional self-sufficiency.”

With the social planets Jupiter and Saturn involved, their journey is meant to influence the world around them. And Neptune’s participation adds the spiritual touch. As they have said: “Walk with Us Mentally! As we take physical steps for peace, we invite everyone to join our journey in spirit. Peace and unity begin within each of us. Today, practice kindness in your own life to walk with us mentally!”

The 19 monks did meet with some trouble on November 20 when a passing truck struck the group’s es**rt vehicle, which then spun around and hit two monks. One was seriously injured and had a leg amputated. At the time, the New Moon at 28º Scorpio opposed Uranus at 29º Ta**us, seriously disrupting their journey. However, on November 25 the injured monk forgave the truck driver and continued on in a wheelchair.

The Sun at 3º Scorpio is a key placement since it’s perfectly sextile the Midheaven, the point of public recognition. It represents the group’s leadership but, in the 12th house, leaders who prefer to stay out of the limelight. The Sun squares Pluto in Aquarius, which suggests the power of their souls, their healing abilities, and as one of my references notes, their ability of “magnetically attracting, fascinating and captivating other people.”

Currently, transiting Pluto has advanced to 3º Aquarius where it forms an exact square to this chart’s Scorpio Sun. Under this celestial dynamic, we can expect more and more people to get involved with the Walk for Peace.

The Walk concludes under the auspices of the grounding spiritual conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in pioneering Aries, which favorably sextiles Pluto, the ruler of this chart. As observers have noted, their journey demonstrates how quiet, deliberate acts of kindness can awaken hope, inspire unity, and foster compassion, showing the power of mindfulness in a world often divided.

Trump’s Progressed Mercury

The Trump regime’s unprovoked military strike on Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Maduro has the international community in an uproar. Astrologically, Trump ordered the strike exactly as transiting Chiron turned direct at 22º35’ Aries where it forms a tight, opportunistic sextile to his Gemini Sun, which in turn conjoins the US Mars at 21º Gemini. Also, transiting Uranus and Saturn are both aspecting Trump’s natal Mars at 26º Leo.

Trump’s reckless mental state becomes clear when we look at his progressed Mercury. Using the one-day-for-a-year formula, in his lifetime Trump’s natal Mercury has advanced from 8º Cancer to 27º Leo, which is just past his natal Mars at 26º Leo and nearly conjunct his Ascendant at 29º Leo. Zeroing in on his progressed Mercury, on January 3, 2026 it was at 27º09’ Leo and advancing at the rate of 0º09’/month.

Currently, transiting Uranus is slowing down as it nears the end of its retrograde phase. Uranus turns direct on February 3 at 27º27’ Ta**us. At that time, his progressed Mercury will be at 27º19’ Leo, or only 0º08’ from the exact square to Uranus turning direct. My astrology books on transits are filled with dire warnings about this difficult square to Mercury.

For example, Robert Hand in Planets in Transit warns about the inability to handle all the new information coming in when making important decisions. He describes the nervous tension, the radical ideas and opinions, the potential for accidents, and the dogmatic positions that will be strongly challenged by others.

Astrology at its Best

Ready to go beyond Sun Sign astrology? Delving into the archetypal, symbolic language of the planets can be quite an eye opener to people who think astrology begins and ends with Sun Signs. I’ve been a passionate astrology student for several decades, and enjoy sharing how the planets reflect what’s happening in our personal lives and geopolitically. I’ve been writing the weekly NewsScope column since 1997, and also wrote regularly for the major astrology magazines, notably Dell Horoscope.
