Napolitano Family BRS Experience

The Napolitano Family hadnโ€™t need to use Bennington Rescue until some sudden changes in health brought BRS crew member Rebecca Boroski into their lives. Please take a few minutes to hear Tony Napolitanoโ€™s story.

Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) thanks to American Red Cross Training Services and our course facilitator Julie Bacon, MSN-HCSM, NEBC, NPD-BC, CPN, CPEN, CNPT. Chief Flight Nurse, John Hopkins All Children's Lifeline, she leads a high-acuity national/international transport team and dispatch center plus she is one of the authors of the NALS participant and instructor texts.

After completing online modules 5 of our crew, Marley, Kiel, Katie, Eaden, and Bill, trained for 3 days with Julie in neonatal resuscitation skills, scenarios, and also to become instructors. The ARC NALS Course provides both in-hopsital and out-of-hospital/EMS specific education and scenarios. There are also two levels of course:
1๏ธโƒฃ Foundations Course which is applicable to EMTs, AEMTs, and other healthcare providers that may be providing initial resuscitation until more advanced providers arrive.
2๏ธโƒฃ Comprehensive Course which is for paramedics, critical care paramedics, and other advanced providers.

This is a low frequency yet high acuity population. Some of our crew have encountered these situations before, this training ensures a smooth, team approach. We're excited to train all our crew members and offer it to other EMS and healthcare providers throughout the region.
