“MARY, ARK OF THE NEW COVENANT – CENTRE OF MERCY” Medical Clinic will come to fruition in Uganda by God’s Mercy and your support.

Many lose their lives due to lack of medical facilities. Thanks for prayers/support to give the gift of LIFE! Foundation of Jesus The Divine Mercy Foundation of Jesus The Divine Mercy (FJDM) seeks to provide hope and new life to hurting people, in various locations, with a focus especially on the children. This "new life" is made manifest through endeavors to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the poor, the homeless, and the downtrodden, globally. Sharing time, talent and finances enables projects designed to encourage prayer and often introduce some villages to the precious heaven-sent gifts of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Holy Rosary. While placing an emphasis on the vocal aspects of the prayers in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament, we are including yet another element. We incorporate reverent, universally understood movements to the prayers thus enhancing the depth of the prayer experience, which promotes unity with God and one another. We are working with local Church leaders to distribute our Family Eucharistic Holy Hour program in various languages to respective cultures to introduce and teach about The Divine Mercy worldwide, including, but not limited to, praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as given to Sister (Saint) Faustina. We also embrace the opportunities we encounter locally to teach and encourage our children and families to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Holy Rosary, thus following the guidance of Our Lord (The Divine Mercy) and Our Lady (The Ark of The New Covenant), joyfully praying these powerful devotions before the Blessed Sacrament. We believe this structure will unite us with the Hearts of Jesus and Mary to bring about healing in the mystical body of Christ. The intent of our work is simple - to share the merciful love God has for all His people. We are called to be His hands, so we extend His mercy. We are called to be His witnesses, so we teach His mercy throughout the world. We ask that you join in our work to bring hope to His chosen, and ask that you prayerfully consider how you can help. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your Words to Saint Faustina. Even if we are not in a vowed religious vocation, we can listen to your instructions to follow the order of the vocation that we have. Help us to have an obedient spirit and to try to live according to the order of life that is before us. May we, too, receive Your grace to be able to live according to what You want us to do each day. Saint Faustina, please pray for us to be faithful in our vocation in life.

In her short life, Elizabeth manifested such great love for the poor and suffering that she has become the patroness of Catholic charities and of the Secular Franciscan Order.

The daughter of the King of Hungary, Elizabeth chose a life of penance and asceticism when a life of leisure and luxury could easily have been hers. This choice endeared her in the hearts of the common people throughout Europe.

At the age of 14, Elizabeth was married to Louis of Thuringia, whom she deeply loved. She bore three children. Under the spiritual direction of a Franciscan friar, she led a life of prayer, sacrifice, and service to the poor and sick. Seeking to become one with the poor, she wore simple clothing. Daily she would take bread to hundreds of the poorest in the land who came to her gate.

After six years of marriage, her husband died in the Crusades, and Elizabeth was grief-stricken. Her husband’s family looked upon her as squandering the royal purse, and mistreated her, finally throwing her out of the palace. The return of her husband’s allies from the Crusades resulted in her being reinstated, since her son was legal heir to the throne.

In 1228, Elizabeth joined the Secular Franciscan Order, spending the remaining few years of her life caring for the poor in a hospital which she founded in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Elizabeth’s health declined, and she died before her 24th birthday in 1231. Her great popularity resulted in her canonization four years later.

Reflection

Elizabeth understood well the lesson Jesus taught when he washed his disciples’ feet at the Last Supper: The Christian must be one who serves the humblest needs of others, even if one serves from an exalted position. Of royal blood, Elizabeth could have lorded it over her subjects. Yet she served them with such a loving heart that her brief life won for her a special place in the hearts of many. Elizabeth is also an example to us in her following the guidance of a spiritual director. Growth in the spiritual life is a difficult process. We can play games very easily if we don’t have someone to challenge us.
